Monitech will not answer the damn phone for a freaking override code. I have 8 documentable hours spent waiting on their customer service reps to pick up the phone!!!!! Don’t use this company.

UPDATED - Customer Service Rep Shavon SOLVED
Updated 04/02/2019: I went to get my device installed on my new car yesterday and it was installed when I went to picked my car up after! Yayyy!! The market manager waited until I got off and stayed until I picked it up and apologized for all the inconvenience! Thanks to the MARKET MANAGER and the awesome customer service rep for getting this done and resolving the problems I went through for those last couple weeks. I am now set until my next monitoring visit. I was also credited and only had to pay a few bucks until my next appointment in June. Now back to the basics! :) COME ON AUGUST!! Anyways, thanks again!
Updated: 11:00am after sendin this review to customer service representative email address on website I received a call from a rep. Shavon (sales rep) assured she understood my frustration and that this is not how monitech works nor is this the procedure for when things like this happen. She gave me a months credit set up an appointment with the market manager, and they’re going to get this taken care of on Monday morning while I’m at work! I appreciate customer service doing what customer service is there to do and getting this done ASAP to VOID my cancellation notice from DMV with less hassle! Thanks again! I will give the 5th star once the machine is actually installed! They were quick with getting back with me and resolving this issue & it’s definitely appreciated!!
Before update:
Let me start by saying when I first started the program for the interlock device everything was great. Easy to call, technician at Burlington location was nice, everything was going good. I decided to purchase a vehicle 3/14/2019, scheduled an appointment to transfer the device the same day from my 05 Jeep Cherokee to my 16 Acura TLX with the intention of doing the right thing in order to continue to keep my driver's license. Went into my appointment, after 2 hours, the technician was unable to install the MC in my new car that he took out of the old one. Remind you I had taken off the rest of the day from work to do this. The technician lets me know that how the instructions are written the car is not wired the same and he's unable to do the job. He set me up an appointment then in Greensboro, installation appts. are only on certain days and at times during work hours. So once again I had to take off another unplanned day for a week later on Tuesday, 3/19/2019 and not only did I have to take off, I had to drive to Greensboro to a further location to someone with more knowledge. Tuesday comes and I drop my car off at my 10am appt. I go back at 4:45 and the technician at that location tells me he was unable to install it as well. So not only was the machine not installed but I had wasted hours off work yet again! He proceeds to tell me he didn't want to mess anything up as he has done in his past that the company had to pay over $800 for and asked if I could take it to Winston Salem the next city out to another technician with more experience for him to attempt to put it in. I then stressed to him I am having to take off work. I'm already having to pay y'all $130 every 2 months for this machine, they also informed me it would add more time on to how long I would have to have to have it installed to the end of my term. Remind you NONE of what's going on is my fault. It is now a week and 2 days later and I'm yet to get a call back from the technician in Greensboro for a appointment in Winston Salem and a letter I received from DMV informing me my driver's license will be cancelled 4/07/2019. Can you say MAD!!! I called them at 7:15 AM and talked to a representative, the representative says that nothing has been noted on my account that the machine was unable to be installed. So now they're not documenting their doings. She said the district manager would give me a call ASAP. It is now 10:00 AM and NO CALL. My account has been paid, no word on the next step, and a cancellation notice of my license that I've paid well over $1000 to get back! Moral of the story they don't care because it's not them. I do not recommend them to anyone! DMV recommended me to call Smart Start. I DID. They have me set for an appointment for next Tuesday without worry that the device will be installed. I am now going to attempt to get a refund for a device that I've paid them for that I've now not had in my car for 2 weeks. Hope this helps whomever!!! It went from sugar to crap quickly!

After posting a complain before about…
After posting a complain before about wait times, the service got better. Well, service is terrible again. I've been trying to get a code reset but nobody is answering the phone. I've called many times and I've waited over 30 minutes each time. I even get the voicemail message.
Just because we have made a mistake does not mean we should be subjected to this kind of stress. We are calling to pay you a fine. If you don't answer, we can't pay and we get in trouble and charged more.
Is this the end game? You want us to get into more legal issues because you are not fulfilling your obligations? Answer the phone. Hire people. Fulfill your job obligations.

Like any government contracted company Monitech is a corrupt, useless, waste of time. I installed Monitech a year and a half after I made the mistake of driving intoxicated. Monitech is worse than jail by far. I got 4 months into the interlock and had driven my car twice because the device does not work in temperatures below 50 degrees and had killed my battery multiple times after mere hours. I then proceeded to have it removed which took 30 seconds after having to pay multiple fees just to reset the device after missing an appointment. I missed the appointment due to the battery being dead in my vehicle. When I got the device removed I was told the original employee embezzled cash from them and I told the new tech that any fees I had I wanted to get over with because I was moving to another state. He "waived" my removal fee due to this behavior by the original employee. Yet, they still are trying to collect 250 dollars from me because they hire temporary firm workers from Ohio to run their call center who don't communicate with the actual techs. They cant explain to me why I owe that much but are threatening to send me to collections. What I have not mentioned is the original tech who installed it was smoking a weed pen WHILE HE INSTALLED IT. This company may seem like a cheap alternative to Smart Start or Intoxalock, but do not fuc**** use it. If they do not waive my fee, I will be hiring an attorney to sue for damages to my vehicle due to them being liable for their stoned employee drilling holes in my car and the 2 batteries I went through. The only competent employee in the entire company is the tech that works in Hickory.

It is very sad that we have companies…
It is very sad that we have companies that operate for nothing but making the dollar.
I need my car worked on. Monitech makes it extremely difficult for my trusted mechanic to easily get a code to be able to work on my car. The call hold times are usually extremely long. The office where I have to go and make my payments; there is always a wait even though I have made an appointment. The representative is usually on the telephone, making everyone wait for him. Sometimes up to an hour after the appointment time. Yet I forgot one appointment booked two months in advance and was charged a 35.00 fee.
I am extremely disappointed in my government for allowing this type of service and of a company that has no consideration of the people who have and use it's equipment.
I made a mistake, almost two years ago. Fortunately it didn't result in any injuries. And I have gladly paid the fines, done the community service for my mistake. As an otherwise hoenst and law abiding person, having to give my money to a company like this? This is corruption. The saddest part is that no one cares...

I wrote a review yesterday and they said they are going to contact me, no body has. I'm in the phone now have been calling them for 53 minutes and I am still on hold!

Monitech is the worst
Monitech is the worst. They gave me a device that barely works. I could not start my car today because it just says it cannot take test! I called them and waited for 40 minutes and then they just hang up!! If you are looking for an interlock device do not take Monitech!
They respond to the complaints reviews and say they will contact but they never do!
I just need someone to pick up the phone now!
