Boy, they are laughing all the way to the bank. Yes I got duped by one of these slick looking Instagram worthy, Apple design language adjacent, (and HomeKit compatible, believe it or not) “air purifiers.” these things I guess launched or really took off during Covid when everybody was scared of viruses and it has some blue LEDs I think on the inside that are meant to simulate ultraviolet light and they have cherry-picked some studies that somehow show the ultraviolet light inside the device somehow activates another layer of filtration or kills bacteria or some such nonsense. You can go read the documentation for yourself. It’s all nonsense. I’ve seen tons of YouTube videos about how ineffective these things are. They recently updated the filters to say they are HEPA, and the filter replacements are already wildly expensive oh, and also they have a little microchip in them that will lock you out of using the app if you try to buy a knockoff from Amazon. Save your money get a Coway Air Mega, or similar. This company needs to go out of business as soon as possible, it even looks like they’ve tried to pivot into a smart humidifier and try to distance themselves from the absolute travesty of their nice-looking, but totally ineffective air purifier/sanitizer machines.

I have purchased three Molekule Air purifiers. All have had ongoing connectivity problems. Plus, during the past year, I keep receiving error messages that my filters need to be replaced much sooner that they should have to be replaced. The chatbots are not helpful, nor do the offshore service center personnel ever fix the problems.

Molekule app stopped connecting to my unit without any reason. I tried numerous times to reconnect app to no avail. Tech support was useless, only telling me they don’t know why and don’t have a solution. I can’t control any scheduling or monitor my filters. This is a very unreliable company. I have other purifiers that stand behind their products. Avoid this one at all costs

I bought a Molekule Home One unit in 2018. The first unit was defective, they sent a new one in 2019. That unit is now kaput and support advises since the warranty expired in 2021, they are offering me a new one for only $199, I asked her "why would I buy another unit that only lasts for 7 years?" Its an overpriced, defective piece of equipment. So I would never buy one again, and don't recommend anyone else does either.

Friendly Reminder: I own the units I’ve purchased. I should not be forced into paying $175 for each Air Pro filter every ) months and $100 for the mini’s. The fact that my products are now “bricked” is repulsive. If a class action lawsuit against Molekule is initiated, please know I will participate to the highest extent possible.

Terrible customer service. Everything is great until you need help and then there's no assistance. I've had my units for 5 years and was ready to upgrade but with the lack of customer support when fedex loses my $100 filter, nope.

I bought the Molekule Mini thinking it was the pinnacle of modern air purification – sleek design, "revolutionary" PECO technology, FDA-cleared claims that sounded too good to be true. Spoiler: It was. This thing is a glorified fan with delusions of grandeur, and Molekule's latest app update has turned it into a full-blown hostage situation. Let's start with the basics: Performance? Laughable. Independent tests from Consumer Reports and Wirecutter have repeatedly shown it underperforms basic HEPA filters in particle removal, while guzzling energy like a gas-guzzling SUV and blasting noise levels that could wake the dead. It takes forever to cycle air in even a small room, leaving you with the same dusty, allergen-filled nightmare you started with. And the "destroy pollutants" PECO filter? More marketing smoke and mirrors than actual science – it barely edges out a $50 Walmart special in real-world use. But the real gut-punch came with their app "update." Out of nowhere, Molekule decided to brick the device unless you're shelling out for their overpriced proprietary filters. No more third-party options, no more cost-saving hacks – just you, bent over a barrel, paying $100+ every few months for what amounts to a fancy paper towel with LED lights. It's not innovation; it's a subscription trap disguised as smart tech. Customer service? A black hole of automated emails and overseas hold music that makes you question your life choices. One replacement filter arrived reeking like a chemical plant, and they suggested "off-gassing it in your garage for days" – because nothing says "premium product" like DIY hazmat protocols. At $400 upfront, plus endless filter fees, this isn't an air purifier – it's a money pit engineered to exploit eco-conscious suckers. Molekule, you're not saving the planet; you're pickpocketing it. Do yourself a favor: Buy a Coway or Levoit instead. You'll breathe easier and keep your wallet intact. 1/5 stars – only because zero isn't an option.
