Really impressed with this curriculum! The scope and sequence is impressive, the teaching videos are well done (and non-cartoon); the guided notes, worksheets, activities, and games are excellent and has kept my child EXCITEDLY engaged. Each weekly packet (which you can choose to print) contains guided notes including sheets to use as the child follows along with the video, activity and book suggestions, activity worksheets, and games to print or otherwise organize by the child (or parent). We are using 4th grade and it’s structured in a way that my child could navigate by himself, but it has been wonderful for me to be closely involved! Because this is our first year using this type of curriculum, I access his upcoming curriculum and print the pdf’s, watch the upcoming video(s), and determine which activities to utilize from the ones provided, or which activities to add. This platform provides ways to customize the grade level per subject; and also customize each part of each unit lesson throughout each grade. Meaning you can add lessons from one grade and subtract lessons from another-essentially customizing a subject between two grade levels-as needed for a child catching up from a previous year or for a child who is ready to advance in certain areas of a subject. The curriculum offers Language Arts (broken down into Reading Comprehension and Language Skills), Math, Science, Social Studies, and Vocabulary as their standard enrollment, with options to add World Languages (including Sign Language, Spanish, French, German), Music/Art, Life Skills, and Bible Study for an additional monthly fee, per subject. The platform also provides annual enrollment options and lifetime enrollment options, offering obvious savings above paying monthly. There is so much more I could say about this platform because it’s more than a curriculum-it’s really structured in a way to get each child involved with the community of learners through things like newspaper submissions, video submissions, design submissions, games etc. Each child can create an avatar, a pet, a home, a design studio for clothing and furniture items. Each child has the opportunity to sell their own designs within the community, earning points to use on the platform. Every engagement is open for the community to see-no child can be private messaged, as all communication appears on the child’s homepage for the entire community to view; and communication is word-limited and monitored. There is a way for parents to turn off these community features but as a parent, I have found these features beneficial in enhancing my child’s learning experiences through engaging in the community of learning. I have found the community to be appropriate, helpful, supportive, kind and overall, a beneficial part of my child’s learning experience. We are using the Clever Dragons part of Miacadamy which means the community is for boys only; the equivalent platform for girls is called Always Ice Cream. I’m very grateful for what they are accomplishing with Miacademy, and Clever Dragons. I’m grateful I found this curriculum and I’m grateful I gave it a try! As I said, it has been wonderful using this platform—I’m impressed with the curriculum, the way it’s presented, the activities attached to it, the practices and quizzes, the pdf’s, the parent site, how well the parent page connects to the child page, how easily customizable the curriculum is, the weekly reports of my child’s progress…I could go on and on! It really has been excellent using this platform, and I think we will be HAPPILY using this curriculum for a long while to come!! Thank you Miacademy!!

Great curriculum for kids K-8. The staff is very good.

I have nothing but good to say about Miacademy and our experience. The customer service is absolutely unrivaled! They reply quickly with useful information. I love the private Facebook group. It gives me great ideas, encouragement and helps me feel more connected. The tutorials are very clear and set up was a breeze.
