Medical GuardianReviews of medicalguardian.com

This place is a bait and switch. We bought our mom a watch, after we were told it had auto fall detection. Only to find out it does not. They lie to make a sale. They will try to upsell you on everything. They’ll tell you the watch will take 12 days to arrive and offer expedited shipping. Don’t do it. It will arrive in a few days. Major scam taking advantage of the elderly and their families. I’d give it zero stars if I could. EVERYTHING costs extra. I’d never recommend to anyone.

I would not recommend this company.. charged us months for a device that was returned and did not give money back

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!buyer beware!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we bought a watch for my dad, he passed away a couple months later, I gave the watch to a friends mom who needed one . when they went to get the watch activated medical Guardian would not activate it. They said she would have to buy her own watch, and would not give us refund.

Updated 2025: This review is still very much accurate and I cannot tell you how serious this is. Please do your homework and go with the ones who have been around longer and check with the BBB!! BUYER BEWARE!!! I purchased 2 devices for my parents 2 years ago, they were never activated & I returned them and 2 years later, countless calls, emails, cease and desist letters, credit card fraud reports & credit card number changes THIS IS STILL GOING ON!!! Absolutely abhorrent. I don't recommend.

For Christmas my husband and I purchased a years service for my mother from them. The account was in her name, we just simply paid with our card. Four months later she broke her hip, had a stroke, and moved into a nursing home. Eight months later they hit my credit card for another years service. Mothers helper had cancelled the service and returned the equipment. I called and complained and then they charged us for the equipment they said hadn’t been returned, the total over $700. AGAIN THE ACCOUNT IS IN HER NAME !

If I could give a zero I would. Cancellations are next to impossible and MG has continued to charge my deceased mother’s bank account now 6 months after her passing. Both my brother and I have made multiple attempts to follow what they say in order to cancel the subscription and they continue to bill my mother’s account and give us the run around. No return calls for messages left, etc. Customer service is a complete misnomer with this company and they are clearly out to take the money of the elderly. Seriously, do not waste your time and money on this company and their devices.

I am appalled that I have to wait two weeks before I can get an ongoing perscription from my doctor for a chest disease that there is no cure. Guardian Medical have destroyed pensioners rights to a reasonable level of care, insisting that patients have to wait two weeks for a phone appointment to renew a simple ongoing perscription. Seems that they are only interested in paying customers and that the simple GP is now out or reach of genuine, needy patients.

I’d give a zero if it were an option. The product itself may be fine. I’m not sure. But the return process is a nightmare. My dad paid for one year in advance, with the promise of prorated refund if he decided to return. He went into Assisted Living less than two months after purchase. So I contacted them about returning. When you call to buy, they are quick to answer, pleasant, and helpful. When you’re calling to return, you’re lucky to get a human and if you leave a message, no one calls you back. I was finally told (after having to call as if I were buying) how/where to return. Three weeks after they received the product, I had heard nothing. When I called, I was told they “have 30 days” to process a return. After 30 days, I was told they had no record of receiving it. Thankfully I had the tracking number and could prove it. Then it took three phone calls for them to “approve” the refund from the date of receipt instead of over a month later. Another few weeks went by and I finally received a check. It was $65 less than it should’ve been. When I called to find out why, nobody could explain it to me. Save yourself the aggravation. Don’t fool with this company.
