Hi, I am new to this, I needed to make. Trip to Panamá in Central America, I was not sure which hotel to stay in , I received a notice saying that I will get a free stay at the hotel by Los pueblos in Panamá , if I filed up the applications , i singed up a 7 day stay , then when I arrived at the counter, the clerk had no idea what I was talking about . No discount No free night , I feel like I was tricked into choosing this hotel, I will be very careful next time !!!

You cannot earn Marriott Bonvoy loyalty points if you stay as part of a group rate. This is why I never stay at a Marriott by choice. I attend so many conferences and have no loyalty points to show for it all because companies negotiate a rate which is entirely out of my control. A completely ridiculous policy.

If there were ZERO stars I would give it ZERO stars. When Starwood owned the program, you had a chance at finding good hotels with points. Once Marriott took over, most hotels are "unavailable" even when I try to book months in advance. We tried reserving hotels in London, and tried to book 4 months in advance, and on the Marriott Bonvoy website they had only three hotels available with points (the ones that charge $1,000 /night and would have used up almost all our points)....but when I call the particular Marriott hotels in London that are reasonably priced (and there are many) directly, they have plenty of rooms, just can't book with points. This program is a joke!! I will definitely stop using this credit card, and go to one that lets you use the benefits they advertise!! This is not the only time this happened...this has happened to us with Marriott Bonvoy before..they "block" reasonably priced Marriott hotels so that you can't book with points.

BEWARE BEWARE - MARRIOTT WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY! - As a gold member, I have gained 150,000 points they expired my points without notice NOT ONE EMAIL, and never explained the points system ever! They are nothing more than crooks, stole 500 dollars in points that I paid for out of pocket! You are just a NUMBER and a MONEY $$$ Sign to Marriott!!

Last time I was kindly notified that my points will expire, this time no such luck and no willingness to reverse this even though it was just a month ago. 100k points gone in an instant. Stay away from this loyalty program. I am a frequent user of a number of these programms, but this is by far the worst in regards to earning, redemption and most importantly service. Not sure what the expectations of Marriott are after this, but I can assure you I will go out of my way to not stay in one of their hotels.

I rented an apartment through Marriott Bonvoy (Homes & Villas). Despite issues with their management company i could not get in touch with Marriott (only email - really??). Finally they did nothing to alleviate concerns. Moreover their management company, Maison Privee, totally bungled it. And they did not send me the usual email to leave feedback! Scam, both these companies.

I am a lifetime Platinum Elite member with Bonvoy (previously SPG) with over 20+ years & 600+ stays with the program. When it comes to calling Loyalty or CS, Bonvoy representatives and support are by far the worst behind Hilton Honors, IHG and Hyatt which I hold elite memberships with as well. The only reason I am staying with Bonvoy is because I never need to requalify again being lifetime. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and keep your stays on Hilton, etc. There is a good reason why Bonvoy Marriott is ranked #4, and at best #3 over the past years wrt hotel programs. Basically, they are in last place mainly because of the customer service. Being a super elite member does nothing to improve this as the general attitude is poor and I don't see this changing anytime soon unless the company acknowledges and revamps things. This starts with just a simple call back to customers who escalate cases and issues vs. having us calling in to inquire.

We have been staying in Marriott Hotels and Resorts accumulating Marriott points for many years. We usually stay in suites which have earned the points. Now, when we want to redeem points for a stay, a suite is off limits for point redemption and we can only use the points for basic rooms. We’ll be staying in other hotel suites in the future.
