The stay at the TownPlace in Boone NC was nice but my interaction with the hotel manager was subpar. We arrived in fact early, 2:15 and the published check in time was3 pm. The deck staff asked how can we help you… my wife said “check in “ to which the man at the desk responded “NOPE” along was a shooing hand gesture. I then stated we wouldn’t actually be checking in we would just like to get a key as we were going to a family gathering and would not be back until later that evening. To which I got the same hand gesture and “NOPE it all or nothing “. I have been a Bonvoy member for years and have never experienced that kind of rude and unprofessional behavior from anyone. Had we not already booked the room and read the cancellation policy we would have stayed at another venue.

I have been trying to talk to a customer service rep about 3 times now and have been left waiting for 30 minutes . I am trying to understand what the charged my credit card the full amount of my stay when it all should have been a points stay. And yes all my points were taken . I need help before I go on my trip .

Booked online for a weekend in Manchester. Everything was ok but when I got to the room it was dirty so I asked to be moved only to be told I'd have to wait which nearly made me late for my theatre booking. Once the room was sorted everything else is ok with the hotel but the check in experience was enough to ruin my stay.

I called two days in advance of my check in date to cancel my reservation. My mother had a medical emergency and was admitted into the hospital, so I could not travel. I explained my situation for the cancellation and did not think I would have an issue moving forward. As a longtime customer, and rewards members, I was disappointed to be charged a fee of $184. To make matters worse, I felt dismissed and did not feel valued as a customer when I called to speak with customer service. The entire call felt very robotic and unempathetic. The Customer Care Escalation Dept. was connected on the line, at my request, and it got even worse. It was implied that I might be a "bad actor" and they need to verify that I told the rep why I needed to cancel. The other statement about this process being necessary or they "...wouldn't be Marriott" was so tone deaf. It sounded very arrogant, not professional. It's very unfortunate. I wish customer service could be what it used to be. There was a time when representatives valued customers and understood how to keep business thriving. This will affect my lodging decisions in the future.

I am very disappointed in Marriott Bonvoy. I am a “Lifetime Titanium Elite” member. However, they refused to give me grace and extend my free night four days. We then chose to use it by staying in the Fairfield on Chincoteague Island on April 10th. The hotel was virtually empty but I was not upgraded. Instead, I was given a room with no balcony and a view of the swamp. What is the value to being a “Lifetime Titanium Elite” member? Craig Larson

9 times out of 10 if something is going to go wrong its when we book on the Bonvoy app. Tonight when we checked in to our king bdrm suite, we were asked if we would mind a 2 queen bdrm instead. We definately minded since its not the room we booked and paid for. So they gave us a handicap suite instead. But as I said before, this almost always happens when we book with the bonvoy app. There is no loyalty. We have much better luck with the 3rd party apps. Also, the wifi at this hotel does not work either. Called the front desk, they said they dont know why.

It is impossible to use the free night award and customer service was useless when I contacted them about the issue. Bonvoy would be better to scrap it altogether so as not to frustrate their members.
