They didn't ship my order
They didn't ship my order, then charged me 5% for cancelling (for fear it was a scam). I don't trust them, and would not recommend them.

I mistakenly bought a fraudulent Humanscale chair from Madison Seating to replace a Humanscale chair that I’ve owned for 15 years. Madison Seating advertised the chair as as “open box,” which I understand to mean that it is a new, original manufacturer's product. Within a month, the plastic on the left armrest cracked. This of course seemed extraordinarily strange for a new Humanscale product. I contacted Madison Seating who offered to send me replacement armrest for $19.99, which seemed outrageous but I paid for it rather than return the chair, which I knew would cost me far more. When the armrest arrived, I compared it with the armrest on the Humanscale chair I was replacing and realized that the one Madison Seating sent was completely different. I researched Madison Seating further and learned they have a history of misrepresenting the products they sell. See here for Better Business Bureau complaints against them; here for Reviews.io; here for complaints on Reddit; here for Herman Miller’s 2015 lawsuit against them. I will never buy another chair from Madison Seating because I can't trust that what they're advertising is what they're selling. It appears that, unfortunately, I’m in good company.

This review is misleading. The buyer was purchasing and then cancelling orders with our company. The items he wanted were in stock but he kept cancelling the orders causing us to have to recall the shipments. The buyer was charged a cancellation fee for his cancellation requests.

After receiving three broken chairs I'm officially giving up. This company refurbishes office chairs cheaply and poorly. I received two chairs broken and promising to delete my 1 star review they agreed to send a good chair. Chair is cheaply reupholstered (the dye is coming off on my hands and there are gaps in the plastic) and the lift doesn't function but it's not broken on arrival (which they swear is the shipping company and not them 🙄). So good thing I'm 3 feet tall 😩 cause this chair isn't rising up or down. This chair will follow it's siblings into the trashcan. Madison seating refuses to give a refund. So I'm out $400 and a hours of wasted time. Don't do it!!!! Runnnnn

If it seems too good to be true, it probably is. Such is the case with Madison Seating. Thought I'd be getting a good deal on a Herman Miller chair. This company hides fees in fine print in TOS and does not disclose them on the pre-purchase agreement or in order summary. Instead, they leave you hanging until you get tired and cancel your order at which point they promptly refund less 5% even when they did nothing. They sell stuff is that is all used or open box anyways so restock (non-new condition) fee shouldn't apply. This company plays the long game of ripping people off.

I have a strong suspicision that this company has shady customer service because they try to blame the customer for their mistakes. I would not expect any type of good customer service from this company. If you run into any kind of issue, don't expect them to be on your side. I haven't come across a company having this bad of customer service in a very long time...extremely disappointed.

Just terrible experience with customer support. Company refuses to acknowledge poorly refurbished item. Operate on bad faith warranty because they know customers typically won't have time or resources to ship back large items. Can't imagine working at such a place is a fun or positive experience if they treat their customers so poorly. Not worth saving a few bucks with these guys compared to just paying a little more with a competitor.

The first chair I got broke within a week of having it. The chair was refurbished very poorly, with several stripped screws around where the headrest was attached. After refusing their initial offer for a partial refund to keep the chair, they offered to send a new one in exchange for a positive review on TrustPilot. I accepted - surely they wouldn't send another broken chair, right? Within a couple days of using it, the second chair's arm rests broke down and the gel started coming out. After emailing them about it (only asking for replacement arm pads), they told me the arm rests weren't in that condition when they sent it out and I'd have to send it back to get a refund. For some reason, they require the original box and packaging to be used to return the chair. I guess the packaging must be sentimental to them - it definitely has nothing to do with the fact that people are likely to get rid of the massive box it ships in as quickly as possible. Do not be like me (and countless others). The chairs are cheap, but it's not worth it. It's obvious that their business model depends more on rejecting returns and bribing for good reviews than it does selling people chairs that work.

Reading others’ reviews here seems I’ve had a similar experience. Shipped me a broken chair which they tried to blame on the delivery. This was bogus, the box and packaging were perfect, no sign of bad handling. Is it possible they knowingly shipped a damaged item in the expectation that I couldn’t be bothered to jump thru all their hoops to return it and get a refund??? I don’t know but perhaps this would explain their seductive price. If you choose to buy from them (which I would discourage) before assembly I would forensically inspect everything and keep the packaging to give them no opportunity to argue over the refund. Also I should mention they offered me a “courtesy offer” of a replacement if I gave them a good review here PRIOR to them shipping a replacement. Absurd idea. To be fair, I did receive a full refund in the end.
