Dude, where's my chair?
I ordered an in stock, Steelcase Leap V2 chair from Madison seating on April 17th. I needed a better office chair to support my back while I work from home until this viral mess is over, and I understood that there would be a delay because of Covid19. Receiving confirmation of my order I saw that it would take 10-14 business days for delivery, and I hoped that included any expected delay due to Covid19. On May 1st I reached out to inquire about my order's status and I was told "This order is scheduled to be shipped out by early May. Tracking will be emailed once released." I thought okay it'll probably ship soon. Having received no tracking information, I reached out again on May 8th for an update and I was told "Madisonseating has just become fully operational again. This order is scheduled to be shipped out next week. Tracking will be emailed once released.". So it should've shipped the week starting May 11th. I patiently waited while that week passed and was quite frustrated that not only had early May passed, but so had the week of the 11th. The week ended in hope though as I noticed my card was charged for the chair on Friday the 15th. When I did not have the tracking info by Tuesday, May 19th, in frustration I reached out yet again and I was told "Your order has just been processed. You should be receiving the tracking information this week." Here I sit on Friday the 22nd, an entire week since my card was charged, 25 business days since I initially placed the order, and I reached out yet again to ask about my order and received the following response: "We are working with limited staff right now causing shipping to be slow. As we are currently closed for the Memorial weekend please reach out next Tuesday to get the tracking information if not issued to you by then." Now I understand that Covid19 is making a mess of things, I get that, and I feel that I have been very patient. How can you say you are "fully operational" on the 8th of May and then on May 22nd blame it not shipping yet on working with "limited staff"? Are you fully operational as you claim or are you working with limited staff? Which is it? To date, this has been a terrible experience, and this chair better be the one I ordered and it better arrive in pristine condition after waiting this long. If it does, I may adjust the rating of my experience.
