Don't order anything from Madison Seating. I ordered a Steelcase Leap chair from them on January 20, 2020. They informed me that the estimated time to DELIVER this chair was 10-14 business days. This would have been February 6th. On February 6th I reached out to them. They hadn't sent the chair. They sent it on the 6th and I received it on the 13.
When I took it out of the box the chair was broken.
They offered to send me another chair (and giving me the broken chair) if I would right a glowing review of them on this site. I refused because I had no idea if the second chair would be any good. They wanted me to send back the chair which I did. They refused to send a replacement chair until they received the returned chair. In theory they will provide me with a credit when they receive the chair back. This has been five weeks of futility. Don't buy from them.

Beware
Beware!
I was excited at first to see the website's discounted prices for Steelcase and Herman Miller chairs. I figured they were just some sort of clearance place for overpriced chairs. I should have thought more about the "too good to be true" prices. After doing a little more research, and reading about the law suits against them, I decided to cancel my order. They indeed make the prices look as if you're getting a new chair at a discount price, but really you're just getting a used chair. After that, I just didn't feel comfortable about doing business with them, they seemed shady.
I tried calling them at first. Strangely they told me they don't "do cancellations over the phone," and I'd have to cancel by e-mail. I thought that was strange and unprofessional. Then I was told there was a 5% "cancellation fee". As if there is some overhead in placing an online order and waiting on them for two weeks to even ship the thing. I will give them this -- when I complained about the 5% fee, they waived it as a "one time courtesy". Good, I won't need a second time.
They don't address the fact that the advertising on the site is highly deceptive to say the least. "$1,000 chair marked down to $400" -- The $1,000 would be correct if the chair was new, but it's not. You have to read the fine print "open box" policy, and even then you barely know what you're getting: refurbished, re-manufactured, wiped down with a wet cloth? Read the other reviews about this.
And they claim that they've "been in business for 14 years." I may take their word for it, but I find no proof of that. Actually, by all accounts I can find, they've been around since 2014. Perhaps they're talking about the previous company LuxuryChair.com who also had a lawsuit filed against them from Herman Miller. Still, I find it slightly deceptive to say they've been around for 14 years as the same company. Notice they do not refute these points.
So there you have it. I should have known better. Just buy a refurbished/remanufactured chair from a notable retailer who doesn't give you a smoke screen, if you want a cheaper one.
*** UPDATE AFTER MADISON SEATING'S RESPONSE ***
The response from MadisonSeating just shows how unprofessional this seller is.
In their response to my original review, which has now been modified since MadisonSeating reported me for "accusatory" or "dematory" language, they said I was "lashing out" for personal reasons, and that my review was "ridiculous". Rather than try to ask me more questions about my experience, they resorted to accusing me and insulting me, forcing me to modify my review so some of it could stay on this site.
MadisonSeating also reported my review as of 2/12/2020, saying I was not a genuine customer. I have provided documentation to TrustPilot to ensure that I am. I chose not to provide them with any of my information because I simply don't trust them, and I realize now for good reason.
Response from MadisonseatingFeb 10, 2020
THE FACT THIS INDIVIDUAL IS A VICTIM OF FRAUD HAS NO BEARING ON OUR COMPANY. NOT A SINGLE COMPLAINT FROM OUR THOUSANDS OF CUSTOMERS REGARDING THIS MATTER HAS BEEN CLAIMED.
MADISONSEATING HAS BEEN IN BUSINESS FOR OVER 14 YEARS . OUR WEBSITE IS SECURED WITH A MULTITUDE OF FIREWALLS.
ITS EASY TO LASH OUT AND BLAME OTHER PEOPLE FOR YOUR PROBLEMS. WHY NOT BLAME OUR COMPANY FOR THE CORONAVIRUS WHILE YOU ARE AT IT? WHAT A RIDICULOUS REVIEW.

Just like price, service quality is LOW!!!
As a single consumer, DO NOT BUY from this company. Google "madison seating reviews" before you do! These folks do not have your best interests in mind - they're out to make money at your expense.
Right after I purchased my chair, I read reviews about how poor the delivery expectations were (delayed) and how it's difficult to cancel orders.
Well, after being advised 10-14 ship time, today is the 14th day since my order and it's yet to even be shipped. Same exact thing as I read in another review. It won't actually be shipped for another 3 days I was told. Then I have to wait for shipping. So it's like over a month I will have to wait. I would rather have paid full price for a BRAND NEW product.
This company does not follow through with their promises. BUYER BEWARE

Sold well used and broken chair as open box like-new
Got a great price on an open-box Herman Miller Aeron chair. It arrived and was used, well worn, broken and showed several signs of previous incorrect repairs. Contacted them by their contact-us page twice with no response after days, finally Emailed them. They accepted it back and they refunded all but $50 restocking fee saying the chair was in new condition, which implies I returned it because I changed my mind, just so they can collect the restocking fee. The chair was sold as open box which means new condition, but was used for years, well worn, and broken. I'm out the $50 restocking fee plus $130 return shipping, and the next person will be sold this chair as open box. Stay away, don't be that next person.
Update: They responded to this review by offering to refund the $50 restocking fee for taking down this review. I insisted they owed me the $130 return shipping, and they refused. They told me the return was listed as "customer remorse" when in EVERY communication I told them it was because they sold a well used and broken chair as open box. I have the Emails. Told them to look at the chair, but I suspect they already resold it. They withdrew their offer of refunding the restocking fee.

Madison Seating - Aweful Warranty Support
This is the second chair I bought from Madison. The first chair was fine, so I bought another. This one was the Stanley Leap V2. All was good for about 3 weeks and then the back broke down where the metal connects to the arm rest. Literally snapped in two. I got with Madison and they said they would fix this issue IF I wrote them a good review. A little extortion, but I needed the chair and said OK. They did in fact send another chair. That was good.
About 2 months ago the piston the raises/lowers the chair went out and does move up or down. I got with them again and this time they send me a YouTube video about how to take the chair apart and fit the piston.
Most recently the chair has started to squeak, loudly, whenever I move back and forth on it. Really irritating in a quiet office. I get lots of comments about how loud it is. Not only this, but two screws have fallen out of the seat. They go back in, but I've never had this issue with a chair.
So I get a hold of Madison again and oh my! To get this fixed I need to send the chair back to them, I get to pay shipping both ways, plus throw in a $75 charge for them to do a "warranty" repair. These chairs are heavy, we don't have a box, and I have no idea what it will cost to end this back and forth.
Had I to do it over again I would avoid this seller at all costs. I've had several Steelcase chairs and its pretty clear that these are either knockoffs of the real Steelcase or seconds that didn't pass quality.
Just for clarification, I'm 6'3", weight 185 and I'm 56 years old, so I'm not this huge guy putting an overload of stress on the chair.

Well, if you have a several weeks and lots and lots of patience - then you might want to give these folks a try. Can't comment on quality of product as we have yet to receive it

I ordered the "hardwood caster upgrade"…
I ordered the "hardwood caster upgrade" on my Steelcase Leap 2. Within 5 minutes one of the casters fell apart. I asked for a refund on the casters, as clearly they are garbage and I'm going to have to purchase a quality set somewhere, but they refused and were only interested in sending me another cheap caster. Not my idea of customer service.

Does not respond to warranty claims AT ALL!
I purchased a top of the line Herman Miller Aeron chair from Madison Seating. It took more than 6 weeks to arrive, and was defective; the seat goes down on its own when you sit on it, and won't stay up if you raise it. I immediately contacted Madison by telephone, and was told that they could not do anything to help me by phone. They required an e-mail request to start a service request. So, I immediately sent them an e-mail to the address provided, never to hear from them again. Now that it's Black Friday, they bombard my e-mail box with spam. Apparently they have enough employees to service their false advertising, but none for their products.
