I wish I have seen all these reviews before I placed my order. The worst online shopping experience ever. Really bad condition. Not open box condition. Don't trust their description. The products are worn and have many scratches, even some holes on backrest. Never ever trust the pictures on their website. The customer service is awful. They refused to replace or return for my order. Stay away from this company, there is many other choices we can find good products and honest customer service. Save your time and keep your mood good is more important than getting a cheap product with the worst customer service.

Absolutely ridiculous customer service
Absolutely ridiculous customer service. I was quoted 10-14 business days to delivery. At around 10 business days, I reached out asking for an update, because the status was still "open" and not "shipped", and received a canned response about waiting the full 14 business days. Well, here we are, reached back out, and was now told up to an additional 3 weeks. There are reviews about this issue going well before Covid-19 restrictions. Completely inexcusable and unprofessional.

SHIPPING problem. DO NOT ORDER if you need the chair soon.
Shipping problem. Do not order if you need the chair any time soon.
Ordered 6/2/2020, got an email saying "The estimated delivery time frame for all in stock items is 10-14 business days from the order date. Should the item selected not be in stock, you will receive an email notification."
If you don't receive that 'email notification', the logical deduction is that the item is in stock.
Checked back with customer service on 6/15/2020. The response was "This order is scheduled to be shipped out by Early July. Tracking will be emailed once released."
When I responded that this is not what was promised on the order portal and the email, and that they should expedite the shipping, I got "Madison Seating is experiencing delays on all orders due to COVID-19. We do not offer expedited shipping."
I went ahead and cancelled my order.
Delays are understandable during covid19, but not being transparent and making promises you can't keep is not ok. I have a lower back problem and this delay keeps me on an uncomfortable chair for longer than necessary. I could have selected another vendor if I knew I wouldn't get the chair for 6 weeks!

Do not order from here
Do not order from here. I began working from home and have a new apartment, large desk but no chair. After 1 week of obsessively seeking out a great deal on Steelcase Leap V2 via Craigslist, FB Market Place, every store, Amazon, YouTube video, Reddit Review, Consumer Affairs, BBB and all of the resellers Madison Seating had decent feedback from customers so I went with it. Granted it does say up to 14 days to ship and that was ok. Ordered it on 04/23, emailed customer service on 05/13 and was told "there were delays to the virus outbreak, the order is scheduled to be shipped out by Mid-Late May. Tracking will be emailed once released." This was mid-may and I let them know there shipping location was less than 2 miles from my apartment.
Emailed again on the 05/18 to check in which they said they were fully operational again and my order was scheduled to ship that week. Followed up again on 05/21 saying that unless I received a shipping date I may be forced to cancel. The person in shipping responds by sending me a cancellation of my order, note...I did not cancel my order and already waited a month for the chair. When I responded asking why they cancelled my order their response was "As we cannot guarantee delivery dates the transaction was canceled per your request"--no guarantee, I definitely did not cancel my order or request a cancellation.
I asked why one last time and a manager emailed me and said "you clearly stated to cancel the order if not shipped by Wednesday" which were not my words whatsoever. Thankfully was not charged but was strung along and then blamed...not worth the time or energy. They could have been honest by saying they did not have the chair in stock and let me decide whether or not I wanted to cancel my order and start all over again in my search.

Just don’t give these people money.
Tried to purchase a Herman Miller Embody chair from their website that advertised them in-stock. Placed my order, didn’t hear anything other than my confirmation for 30 days so I reach out. I’m told they are having shipping delays due to the pandemic and It would probably ship middle of May. We get all the way to middle of June before my order is just canceled with no explanation and guess who no longer advertises having stock of Embody Chairs? Madison Seating. I would have been okay if they canceled it as I ordered but for them to lie about having stock is really messed up, I could have tried to get a similar deal from a competitor site but now they are also out of stock. Scummy way of doing business I would avoid Madison Seating if you’re looking for a competent merchant, it’s obvious they are not.
EDIT - Their support team reached out, explained a warehouse was shut down due to covid and as a result all of their stock of the Embody chair save for 1 that I could receive. Asked if I would like to proceed, I reply yes. I'm then informed that my order would not be completed until I removed THIS POST.
Here is my verbatim response: Yea I mean we had a firm offer, a non-binding contract and this was my experience. I would GLADLY remove the review and re-submit a glowing review 100% but I need assurances that you are actually going to fulfill my order, because last time I entered into an agreement with your company you failed to fulfill it.
Yea I agree it’s a mean take and I was frustrated. But I’ve been looking forward to this chair for 2 months now. Every day working from home on this terrible wooden seat thinking about that chair.
The post comes down when I get my chair.
Their Response: Hi Michael,
Unfortunately, we are unable to ship out this chair so long as your review is still posted.
We are sorry we could not fulfill this order for you due to the escalation.
I would take every positive review with a grain of salt on this website since it seems they are engaging in some strange marketing/ customer relations strategy. Just fulfill your orders guys, then you wouldn't have to bribe people into removing their bad reviews

The products are not as advertised. The company is cunning and dishonest! You may lose some money dealing with them.
I wouldn't recommend this company at all. They are cunning and unscrupulous, selling 'open box' items that are clearly used and refurbished. You are taking a major risk by ordering from Madison Seating, and, like myself and others here, you may end up regretting it. They sold me an open box chair for $424 (after some huge discount they had running on their website - the chair is about $700 on Amazon.) But what they shipped me was an old chair that showed signs of significant use, including cracked wheels, scratches and frame marks. The leather fabric was re-stitched and seat cushion was redone - both done imperfectly. Moreover the chair was dirty; the base (legs and wheels) were soiled and hadn't been wiped. I was disappointed when I took it out the box: there was no original packaging at all. It was as if I'd bought it on craigslist. I felt duped. I emailed them and they offered to take half off the price, which in my opinion was not enough, considering the age and condition of the chair, and the heartache I went through. However, it would have cost $64.00 out of my pocket to return the chair back to them in New Jersey. [Madison seating doesn't pay for returns, they said!] So, I wound up keeping it, but now I regret it. Yet that's what happens when you allow yourself to deal with unscrupulous merchants who have trickery as part of their marketing plan. Several people have pointed out their bad experience here. I join them in lamenting this seller. There is a high chance you will be unhappy, disappointed or frustrated, if you deal with Madison Seating. You may also lose money.

Spent weeks waiting for my order to…
Spent weeks waiting for my order to ship. There is no one to call. Finally got an email telling me they don't have it and that I should order a different product that obviously cost more.
**edit the response below is a lie. I would gladly have taken another color. They did not have the size i ordered. They told me I could reorder a larger size. Size C is 50 dollars more than size A. And wouldn't even fit the person it was ordered for.
Response from MadisonseatingJun 8, 2020
Wow. What a complete falsehood. The buyer was offered the same item in a different color FOR THE SAME EXACT PRICE.

Don’t like your item
Don’t like your item? You probably will get your money back for your item, maybe but first: shipping a chair back? Look up shipping a 27”x27”x40” 20lb box ... could be 50% (more than $200 via Fedex / UPS) or more of the item’s cost. In other words: it really doesn’t matter if you get your purchase price back ... you might end up keeping something you’re not really satisfied with to avoid shipping the return back ...
In my case the item received was different model than the one photographed on the site. Different SKU, model & features. 1 star for a chair I'll settle for ... my 180 co-workers won't hear a peep in the Slack channel for sources of home office furniture at a time when everyone's looking.
