Lumiere EducationReviews of lumiere-education.com

My experience at Lumiere has been amazing and I can undoubtedly quote it as one of the best experiences till now. It provides great mentor matches and flexible schedules along with several other resources that help you to elevate the quality of your project. I grew a lot under my mentor from UCL, Mr. Gbentondji's guidance, both academically and socially. Further, I was also grateful to my program manager Ms. Saumya Kalgud who helped me manage my deadlines and supported me throughout the program. At last, I am thankful to both Stephen and Dhruva for giving me this opportunity to be a part of this wonderful program.

I am Veibhaw Mahajan, a 16-year old high-school student from India, I was a part of the Individual research program with a full-financial aid and had a very great time, especially, since it marked my first step into the realm of research. The mentor was exceptionally helpful, knowledgeable and helped my draft my first research paper with a lot of comfort and ease. The team, the program manager were also very prompt to my concerns and everything was so well-structured, it made the process so much more efficient. I would definitely recommend this program to high schoolers, especially those, who like me are just getting their hands on research.

I joined the Lumiere Research Program having zero knowledge about research. As someone living in a developing country, I initially thought it was beyond my reach. However, thanks to the generous financial aid provided, I was given the opportunity to let my curiosity shine. With the support of a kind and excellent mentor, as well as a whole caring staff, Lumiere provided an experience that not only made me feel empowered and smarter, but also equipped me better for the world. Today, I can truly say that Lumiere has had a profound impact on my intellectual and personal growth and I am grateful for that!

I was recently approached to be a research mentor for this company. What they're doing does not fit the usual standards and conventions in academia. Having students pay for research experience is potentially predatory and virtually guaranteeing publication is a sign that they're publishing in predatory journals. Normally, undergraduate research is free or even paid. And even in perfect circumstances, things may not work out for a publication. I recommend that people work directly with professors or do REUs (research experiences for undergraduates)

I really enjoy the overall design and organization of the Lumiere program. The syllabus of the program is given to you at the beginning to the program, and if you follow the syllabus, you will not have a hard time completing a high quality research paper. I really appreciated the help given to me from my mentor. This is my first time writing a research paper, however, with his help, I now fully obtained the skill of writing a standard paper. He answered my questions both in meetings and in emails immediately and motivated me during my writing process. Overall, I enjoyed this program a lot and learned both about the topic I researched and writing skills for academic papers.

What actually made my experience so advantageous is the moment of coming up with a 3d-model simulation for my research paper. Indeed, my mentor assisted me a lot to do this simulation as he was expert in finite element analysis such as MATLAB. Also, I felt happy during assessment of the provisional final paper. The more I modify in the content of the paper, the more writing skills I gain.

The program manager was always attentive to all I did and made sure I was feeling great at every single point in the program. As a high school senior, school work, extracurricular projects, family responsibilities and college applications can all get piled up together really fast and may make the pressure unbearable sometimes, but I can confidently say that Lumiere was phenomenal at alleviating this pressure and ensuring my successful completion of the program. Shoutout to Srishti Bansal for being the best program manager EVER!

It is a wonderful program that really cares about both the students and the educators who help run it. It's challenging, but, in my experience is a good fit for ambitious students. Not great for folks who aren't willing to put in the work though.
