Lose It!Reviews of loseit.com

I've used Loseit for about 10 years and it used to be a decent app. Now it's been ruined by very intrusive ads that highjack the screen just as you are trying to enter meal data and once highjacked, there usually is no way to quit the ad to get back to the meal data entry other than quit out of the app. Until Loseit goes back to unintrusive banner ads that do not highjack the screen, stay away from this hot mess of an app if you value your serenity.

I really like this app. Has most of the same features as my fitness pal but for free. You have to be careful to make sure the weights are right as some people create new items/meals and don't do it correctly but other than that it's pretty good.

Not sure if counting calories is the way to go for me, but I found this app very toxic. The recommended intake of calories was dangerous for me. I felt weak, starving and miserable. No motivation on this app either. Difficult to cancel too.

I've always used this app along with nutracheck,UK maybe it's because I'm on android and use Google play but you just cancel the subscription when you want to cancel much like anything else. If you have paid for a year it's a one off payment and you CAN'T cancel and get money back for the months you haven't used I was a returning customer and got I got it for £8.50! If it's monthly you just cancel the subscription through Google play or you can pause it for a number of months. On premium I don't get adverts. Reason android have got better features then apple! Unless this is the USA version?

The app may be useful, but they force you to take a free trial then you're unable to cancel. If you registerd on their website, the cancel subscription link is broken. Their AI support tells you to log a ticket which send it back to the AI chat, it's like a loop. This is an awful practice and I don't see why anyone would like this app for this reason. I would class this as membership scam.

This app is a scam. They charge you twice and then claim they can’t do anything about it, telling you to go through Apple instead. They took money from my account twice for one order. Lose It blames Apple and provides a procedure to file a complaint that doesn’t even work. Definitely not recommended!

Decided to update my review of 18 months ago as I still can’t believe all the negative comments. I think there must be a difference between the UK (where I am) and US versions. I definitely credit Lose It! for my 2 stone/28lb weight loss, having previously tried other apps and some slimming clubs with no success. The app works on the simple premise of ‘calories in v calories out’ - the essential basic of weight loss. It is very simple to use and the new feature of being able to photograph a meal to get a calorie estimate is so helpful when eating out. The app can be linked with various fitness devices and the forum is great. (Contrary to other reviews I’ve seen helpful and sensitive responses when a person with an apparent eating disorder posts.) I have lifetime membership and can’t recommend Lose It! enough. (No - not affiliated with them in any way 😁.)
