The fire alarms came with my new house fast forward to five to six years most have gone bad with low battery even if the batteries are new. First time I changed two them to first alert and cut the yellow wire off to stop the daisy chain. When four more died at 12am with low battery I had enough. I went online to Costco & Lowes and bough four Nest connect fire alarms. Now I can actually claim warranty and turn off the low battery if it occurs at night from my phone. Instead of going to the garage and getting my ladder. Kidde has to the be worst company in the business probably because they have taken over the market with new homes. If your building your house do not put these in the house pay extra and get a smart fire alarm of choice Nest or another brand.

Absolute trash fire alarms. I had two go off at once at 4am while I was SLEEPING and I had to hear false loud beeping for 5 minutes until I could get a stepstool to rip it out of its socket. It made no sense how to eject the batteries so I had to snip all the interior wires and sever all of the components on the motherboard using a knife till it finally died and I threw it away. Landlord came by for a check up not too many weeks later and saw that I had taken them down. He put them up and I left them in hopes that new ones would actually wor-NOPE. 4 AM AGAIN BEEEP BEEEP BEEEEEEPEPPEVEGEHEHS SO ANNOYING. This one I ripped out of the socket and took it to my garage, was so angry I demolished it with a sledge hammer and the feeling of justice finally coarsed through my veins. TL;DR: I'd rather burn in a gruesome slow death incinerated by the many flames around me than EVER use a product from these complete degenerates. F them, Hope they all die at thatt company in a fire cuz they cant make anything work.

I purchased two units from Kidde. With the first unit I had a question regarding installation. I called every day for a week and found average wait time was HOURS. So I emailed my question. Its been 6 months without a response. They acknowledge the email but never answered. On the 2nd unit I could not get it to stop telling me "low battery". I followed the instructions from the Kidde web site without success. I then emailed them, they acknowledged the email and still no answer. DON'T LET YOUR FAMILY DOWN, BUY ANYTHING BUT KIDDE

We had a kidde multi unit smoke detector that was already installed in our home when we moved in. After a couple of months the unit went off randomly at 3 a.m. one night. Of course we were alarmed and investigated to see what the issue was. After determining that there was no fire and no smoke present in the home, we dusted off and blew out the units to make sure foreign particles were not causing a false sensor detection. A couple of nights later, the same thing. The same unit was going off and triggering the others. We moved the unit to another room and made sure the high end battery that is recommended by the care guide was fresh. After the unit went off again a few nights later, we called the manufacturer. After waiting on hold for about an hour, we finally talked to an agent who suspected that the unit was faulty and that it was still under warranty, so they would send us a new unit. A week or so after the last communication with Kidde the new unit did arrive and so far, no false alarms. Thank you for helping to keep our family safe.

I have purchased 2 x Kidde 10SCO units in the past 11 months. The first failed within 3 months and now the replacement has failed within 9 months. Both had same fault in that the Fire alarm goes off for no reason. I have lost all faith in these products. Now waiting for return instructions from Safelincs.

Bought Kidde 10sco fire/carbon monoxide alarm and keeps going faulty, customer service want the receipt for the alarm before they will replace, which was bought in 2016

BUYER BEWARE. Kidde carbon monoxide detectors have failed after 3 years of use. They were purchased as they have a 10 year warranty. Kidde refusing to replace or accept any responsibility. Stated they cannot be used in the kitchen. As the majority of gas appliances are in the kitchen and the unit needs to be placed within a certain proximity to the appliance, this makes them unfit for purpose.

We have very bad experience with the Kidde Fire Safety. It's just 2 years we moved to a newly built home with new fire alarm and several time received false alarm from multiple systems and some of them got replaced. The customer service was worse than the product, it was the worst customer service call I ever had. When asked for replacement according to the warranty, was told they are not aware how long it will take for replacement. Will not recommend this product.
