I'd rate the Smart Chair at 4.5, which is to say it has lasted 3 years and is going strong. I had 2 damaged tires in the first year, which turned out to be a structural defect, but I was sent free tires to repair the chair. It has drawn several compliments and I always respond that it has been a worthwhile purchase. It could be a little more comfortable, but at the price of a heavier weight and less portability.

The KD Smart Chair has changed my wife's mobility options dramatically. Her old power chair weighed about 250 pounds and required quarterly maintenance of the chair lift. The heavy duty smart chair, weighing about 52 pounds, means we can carry the chair in any vehicle with a simple placement in vehicle trunk. The chair sets-up quite easily and hold the battery charge for hours with recharging. I would highly recommend this chair to increase your family mobility options.

I don't use it a lot but we took it to Mackinac Island 2 yrs ago, and it worked very well going all around the island. I just used it today at the mall, and it works very nice. It is easy to put in the trunk, but takes 2 people to do it easily.

Its to fast and hard to control for an older person to operate via a joy stick... it needs a foot guard to protect feet from hitting door jams walls objects in tight places.... (your feet stick out past metal supports, so they are first thing to hit any object)

The KD Smart chair has been a big help for me and my caregiver. The two problems I have had is with the foot stand; I always need someone to put it down or push it up and the buttons on the on the gear shift sometimes stick. Many people have stopped to ask me about the chair and I have sung your praises.

I use my KD smart chair quite frequently and find it a lot easier to use, in stores, than my scooter which is much larger. Everyone asks me where I got this cute little chair and, of course, I tell them. I think it is quite amazing.

Love my chair and would recommend the company as they have been very responsive when I needed something like a new suit case for traveling with my chair they got it to me ASAP and made my travels and protecting my chair from the airlines possible
