A recent review of a purchase of one of my books were poor because of the print quality. Never had this problem when books were under createspace. I realize I’m not a big seller but I should be penalized for poor quality on Amazon’s part

Here is my review via email. The original cover was approved in their system viewer. It looked great. We received the proof copy and loved it. Went to press, then was told the cover did not meet dimension standards. The rep suggested we adjusted down. We did so and it screwed the cover up. KDP refuses to make concessions stating that we approved the cover. Yes, after the proof that we paid for. They take your proof money and then reject the cover that was SENT AS A PROOF. A PROOF IS WHAT WE WOULD RECEIVE. HOWEVER, IT'S BAIT-AND-SWITCH. If we are not getting the product paid for as a proof they should not take our money. They should allow the cover to go through SECOND phase which would detect inconsistency with going to press. How much money are they making off proof copies that they reject during phase 2? Alvin, Just stop. KDP refuses to take responsibility for bait and switch. The original cover was the proof. That was also approved. When we went to publish, it was rejected. April 2019. Your rep instructed us to adjust the size of the cover and it screwed it up. You took the proof money and created a mess. Over it. I will make sure to write a review in all of the writer's groups telling both sides. You send proof. It looks great. Goes to press, it fails QA. How much money are you making milking authors off of proof copies?

It's a great idea and I'm grateful but that's where the buck stops. I was told to market my book to friends and family so I did via Facebook and Messenger (internet cops) posting directly to my family and friends internationally and anyone else who see's the posts "self-marketing" Since publishing, I've sold 6 copies, just six and every single one friends family and colleagues. 3 have been able to leave reviews. The rest have received messages saying you can't review this item either because you are biased or you haven't spent enough on Amazon. (internet police) Facebook and Amazon are friends that's what that tells me or at least the trolls they have working for them. They are literally hurting sales and any leverage and its discouraging. We live in a new world where you are sabotaged for wanting to succeed when you aren't connected or secretly raping kids. I literally have emails from kdp support advising me to encourage friends and family to purchase my book. And to top it off, reviews aren't accurate, one site says 1 review another says 3 and some say zero. I've two more books in the pipeline aha, not happening I'll find somewhere else. If you are about to self publish, do not use this platform it's broken and don't use Facebook to market it. They will hinder you because you arent using their ads. and they have the cheek to send you emails about paying for ads for your products hahahahahahahahaha you **** knuckles. why so you can block those reviews as well. gtfoh. **** you **** google **** facebook. If you've got a book find another way this isn't it.

This is a nightmarish way to publish anything. I uploaded a current copy of my manuscript, only to have the original mailed to me a day late. None of the changes had been made; they charged the full amount; and it was late. I wouldn't have minded the late delivery if KDP had done its job and made the changes. Now I'm stuck with copies of outdated and incorrect manuscripts and have long-ago been billed for them. AWFUL SERVICE!!

The whole setup process has costed me days of time and tons of money for my design artist. There is no help and it is far more complicated than it should be.

Very disappointed with Amazon KDP. I published a book on KDP, made some updates and ordered books. Ten books were delivered without the updates. Ten more books were delivered without the updates, after I was assured these would contain the updated version. I was told someone placed an order for 26 books (then the number changed to 28) then canceled. I was told I would not get the updated version until all of these 26-28 books were sold. Why am I being penalized for something someone else did and truthfully I have a problem with this story as very few people knew about this book and who is going to order 26-28 copies of a book they have never seem. The point is, I cannot get an updated copy of my own book. KDP-Amazon wants me to pay for the copies they say were ordered and canceled. Seems to me the one that ordered them and then canceled should be penalized, not me, but I am the one being penalized. Whats the point of updating a book if that is not what we are going to get.

Be careful to publish on Amazon KDP. They no longer pay the royalties due and inventing non-existent delays and problems.They keep your money by the selling of your books to make their profit. I'm a joung self-publisher and I have to say that Amazon is no longer the platform it used to be.
