I would give this a 2 but I have had things do okay. But mostly it is a pain in my but also in two areas what makes it hard to work with. When you make ads it seems like nothing happens it just a bunch of money waist. It's also hard to navigate in areas. Biggest issue I had was I closed my account because I was wanting to start over with a clean list of books I up graded. After that I made a new one thinking the old account was closed because it said it was closed then I checked one time to see if the old account was really closed and it wasn't then that led to the misunderstanding where they closed both accounts over an issue I couldn't help. I contacted by phone they fixed it but when it looked all back to normal the account was closed again when submitting a book.

They initially blocked me for having a subtitle of my second book from 2025 same as some series that trademark (not exact words by the way) is the same as 4 other positions by different authors that I didn't even know existed- instead of eventually blocking one position they just deleted all of my books that didn't have any problem at all. Gladly after me contacting them, they brought them back.

I have spent a good amount of time on Amazon KDP, unlike me, there are thousands of KDP users who want to sell their books using this platform, so after spending lots of time on making my books more attractive I took their ad service, and only after that, I made few sales. In summation along with the commission on every book, amazon takes you to have to invest in an ad campaign. so in the end I earned very little money.

Authors beware. I have published six books on KDP. Easy process, listed on Amazon, good, not great, but good sales. But now a change. Those who review your manuscript for publishing have become dictatorial. Case in point, I recently published a manuscript as a print book, submitted it and was approved. The book went live and is already selling. Then I elected to do an E-book of the same manuscript. Submitted it and got a message from the reviewer that he would not approve the E-book for publication because, wait for it, the content was to similar to that of the print book. Try as I may this reviewer would not accept the fact that it was indeed the same book only in E-book form. I tried to appeal his decision and all communication with the team was cut off. Instead, they blocked my E-book so I cannot do anything with it. It is still there on my bookshelf, just sitting there frozen in place by the all-powerful, do not dare question my decision, review team. This happened once before and thankfully I found someone in the review process who had some common sense and reversed the decision. but, that hum, that tone is still there, don't question us or we will block you.

A recent review of a purchase of one of my books were poor because of the print quality. Never had this problem when books were under createspace. I realize I’m not a big seller but I should be penalized for poor quality on Amazon’s part
