I sought treatment with Joyous as a last resort for chronic suicidal ideation that proved unresponsive to standard interventions. While I acknowledge that ketamine therapy itself has significantly reduced these episodes, I feel compelled to express serious concerns regarding the platform's administration. The heavy reliance on an automated AI-driven model has resulted in frequent systemic errors that compromise the quality of care. Patients seeking at-home ketamine therapy should be aware that the current lack of consistent human oversight falls short of the standard of care expected under AMA guidelines. I am sharing this feedback because I believe it is necessary to caution prospective patients about the substandard operational practices I have experienced.

They are completely incompit the past month when it comes to trying to schedule for a refill. They have scheduled me with the wrong person twice, completely duplicated and partly deleted my account and this is every 3 months for the past year when I try to get a refill. In the past they would still send the refill while I try to get an appointment but this time they are treating me like they just don't care at all. Most of the time it feels like I'm talking to AI or a foreign person and if there were another company who did the low dose I'd have switched a year ago. I did just have a week of stronger pain meds after surgery when all the big trouble started and sometimes companies flag you as risky or something without bothering to ask questions. They treat you like poo.

My last Joyous shipment arrived August 5. The next one arrived September 26. That's 52 days, and I had to fight for every one of them. I did my follow-up appointment on August 24. My provider and I agreed to keep my dose at 100 mg. Then nothing shipped. For ten days I got contradictory messages. Book another appointment. Don't book one. Book one. Don't. Every reply read like it came from a machine, because it did. I asked for a phone call again and again. Joyous told me in writing that they don't do phone calls. Their pharmacy told me it was waiting on Joyous. Joyous told me the pharmacy was the hold-up. Neither one would say why. So I booked a new appointment myself. Six minutes in, they swapped my provider. The new provider finally told me what happened: my provider wrote 100 mg, and Joyous's automated system changed it to 120 mg. That mismatch is why the order sat there. Nobody caught it, and nobody told me, until I got a clinician on video and asked. This is psychiatric medication, and it's a controlled substance. Joyous runs its patient care through software, with no phone line and no one watching. When it breaks, you're on your own. I've filed with the BBB and the California Attorney General, and I'm filing with the Medical Board of California. If you're thinking about Joyous, read their BBB page first.

I originally gave Joyous a 5-star review because my first month went very well. Unfortunately, my experience has changed significantly. Over the past two weeks, I have had two appointments canceled because of technical issues on Joyous’ end. Both times I was already online and waiting for the appointment. After the first cancellation, I rescheduled for the following week, only to have the same thing happen again. There is no phone number to call, so communication is limited to email/text. My next appointment is now scheduled for September 22, but I am running out of medication and have no guarantee that the appointment will actually happen this time. What is especially frustrating is being told that even if I run out of medication, it’s “normal” and not a problem. I don’t think it’s reasonable to pay a monthly subscription for ongoing treatment while being unable to reliably get the required monthly appointment because of repeated technical problems. I hope someone from Joyous actually reviews this and contacts me with a solution rather than simply telling me to wait for my September 22 appointment.

I've had a great experience with the medication, the courses and the community stuff. Those are all great. What I didn't like was the admin nightmare. I am perhaps a little sensitive, but it was bad. The last straw for me was that I wanted to get a provider appointment scheduled. I received the link, and there were no options. They told me to check again in a couple days. I checked every day for over two weeks. There were no appointment times available. This is a clear indication they don't have provider coverage as they need. I messaged their support again after, and got the same advice. I advised that I would not deal with that and they should cancel my membership because I was unwilling to continue treatment without a provider appointment. The care team then decided after that to send me a new prescription which I advised I didn't want. It was shipped and they required me to maintain my membership until August 31. I told them this was unacceptable and even told me that I authorized them to send the medication when I in fact had done the opposite. I also requested a stop to all messages from the company because I was sick of getting them everyday when I've already requested the cancellation, which they seemingly overrode to send me another prescription. They told me customer service couldn't affect the issues and it was relayed to the care team again. As it sits, the system still is treating me as if I didn't make the requests and such, but when a human reviews and checks the messages, they advise me that I did in fact make the request for cancellation timely and the care team has not actioned this matter. I'm furious with my experience, however, I hope that they correct their problems with some input from me. There is no excuse for a company that is provisioning medical care to be unable to deliver it with the appointments to the providers, however, if that gets corrected, I hope anyone else has a better experience.

I really wanted to like Joyous. Setting up an appointment, talking to a medical professional, and getting my first pack of troches was seamless- very simple and straightforward. Over the first few weeks of ramping up doses, I noticed some days were more potent than others. I was told this has to do with things in my control (time of day taking the dose, what I've had to eat and drink that day, sleep, etc). I tried to stay consistent in my routine, but was still having consistency issues by the end of the first month and filed a report. I received my second pack with a higher dose amount (nearly double the first pack). I've now taken 9 troches from the new pack and felt next to nothing during each session (some sessions literally no effect at all). I had a small amount left from the previous pack, so I tried a quarter of a dose from that pack. The smaller dose from the prior pack had more of an effect than any of the new ones. I've reported this several times and have been told 1.) they do not send placebos and 2.) "the pharmacy troches are tested by a 3rd party independent testing company to verify that the potency and quality is correct. There have been no indications that there are discrepancies in the potency of the batches." I was told to file a report, but I already have an open case and cannot open another one. It has been several weeks and nothing has been resolved. This is a big let down mostly because when it works, it works great. I've had nine days in a row being disappointed and I'm ready to cut my losses and try a different company.

When it comes to get patient financial assistance they say they approve you. When they seek payment its not reduced therefore you don’t see the provider and nothing orescribed. Been few weeks now and believe this is just another bogus program. Not happy with service, program or results.

Provider didn’t show up to an appointment. Waited for an hour. They shipped my medication to my old address after I submitted to have it updated and they locked me into a 3 month commitment without me knowing.
