Ketamine therapy is one of the best…
Ketamine therapy is one of the best things I have ever done for myself. It gave me the protected space I needed to confront trauma, understand my history, and begin living with a freedom I once could not imagine. Combined with Methylene Blue and the broader protocol I developed for myself, it has been an essential part of my journey away from psychotropic medications and benzodiazepines. When our nonprofit, The Blue Brain Project, receives its 501(c)(3) status and becomes operational, our mission will be to make this kind of opportunity available to as many veterans—and eventually as many appropriate individuals—as we responsibly can. Many veterans have spent years moving from one prescription to another while the underlying trauma remains untouched. I want to help give them another path. The protocol will not promise to “get people off” medication, and no one will be encouraged to stop psychotropic drugs or benzodiazepines abruptly. Medication reduction must be individually appropriate, carefully monitored, and directed by qualified medical professionals. Instead, our goal will be to help eligible participants address the biological, psychological, and lifestyle factors that may allow them, with their prescribers, to reduce their dependence on these medications safely. I would genuinely like to explore a partnership with your organisation. We would remain within the established scope, eligibility requirements, dosing structure, and clinical safeguards of your system—just as I have throughout my own treatment. The Blue Brain Project would not attempt to practise outside that structure. Our role would be to identify and support appropriate participants, reinforce responsible participation, provide complementary education and resources, and help veterans remain engaged with qualified clinical care. I am not approaching this as someone who merely read about ketamine and decided it sounded promising. I am approaching it as someone whose life has been profoundly changed by the experience. Ketamine gave me enough distance from my trauma to face it without being destroyed by it. It helped me reach memories and stressors extending back to childhood, speak honestly about military trauma I had carried silently for decades, and begin understanding the story beneath my symptoms. I want other veterans to experience that same possibility: not intoxication, avoidance, or an unsupported escape from medication, but carefully supervised treatment that may give them the space to rediscover themselves. This therapy helped return my life to me. Partnering with you would allow us to bring that possibility to people who may have stopped believing that genuine freedom was still available to them. Thank you for giving my children their father back, and my wife, her husband.
