Joyous + low-dose ketamine = healing
I’ve been working with Joyous for two weeks for late onset, severe C-PTSD and I am happily giving them 5 stars. I also give them a bow of gratitude for offering an affordable option for ketamine treatment. They are very responsive with daily check-ins, providing advice and encouragement. The protocol of low dose ketamine works. I know (and they know) there’s minimal academic research backing this up. But, the science is there, and the studies, that ketamine is effective for treating anxiety and depression - even treatment resistant depression. So, it’s a very small leap of faith that daily or semi-daily low-dose ketamine can work. I tried the larger dose method and found it short lasting. The daily low dose protocol, for me, has created a measured and progressive path to an overall reduction in my anxiety. I have also found that if my anxiety starts rising in the day to difficult levels a small amount (20 mg) can “short-circuit” the tidal wave of building anxiety. It feels like the ketamine is helping my body rewire new pathways that in the past were on autopilot to go to anxiety. Another thing I was struggling with was rather intense depersonalization. If anyone has experienced this they know how destabilizing and disorienting it is. For me it’s much worse than the anxiety. For the past 8 months I’ve been struggling with depersonalization - and found nothing that was helping. Joyous and low-dose ketamine is helping. To me it’s amazing that a dissociative medicine can associate someone back to reality. For me to be able to start to feel like I’m of this world again is huge! After two weeks I’m not “cured” and I know this is a marathon and not a sprint. I still have challenging moments or hours and sometimes blips of depersonalization. But, I’m feeling very confident that I’m on a path that will get me through the struggle that I’ve been dealing with. I also want to add what’s been helpful for me is working with intent and purpose when I’m dosing with ketamine. I’m primarily working on connecting to my body and connecting to “source” or whatever someone might call a higher power. Plus I want to encourage anyone who’s on this path of healing the importance of exercise, meditation/mindfulness and proper nutrition. A pill or a troche is not the sole source of your healing. It does take work and a commitment to get out of bed and go for that walk, choose veggies over sugar, slow down and meditate. It all adds up! And finally, if you’re thinking of trying Joyous it is definitely worth a try. I highly and wholeheartedly recommend them.
