I went from barely being able to get out of bed to now going back to college for my Masters degree! I would recommend Joyous to anyone who has tried other meds and therapies with no success. I will definitely join Joyous again in the future if my treatment-resistant depression comes back!

I don't think this is a good option for people in critical need of psychiatric care. I don't know if an actively suicidal person should be using telemedicine just because the response times are inherently delayed due to the nature of care. BUT if you have suicidal ideations or can't reset your negative thought patterns, and you've tried other forms of anti-depressants, I think this could be a good choice. I have discontinued ketamine therapy after a year with joyous because it worked. I am still taking my anti-depressants and I think I probably always will, but it feels like they're working now, and not just keeping the darkness at bay. I have a broader perspective and am better able to identify when I get stuck in a negative thought pattern. I think it is a wonderful alternative for people who have tried multiple antidepressants and just haven't been able to break through depressive symptoms. My experience was a wholly positive one. I had a great doctor and communication was prompt and personal. I began feeling better after about 4 weeks and after 3 months I felt pretty great. I continued treatment for another 6 months as directed, and began tapering off the last 3 months to make sure my baseline was good and not still being supported by the medication. This isn't something you do forever, and discontinuing treatment with them was simple and fast. They're not trying to keep people on this medication for life. The flexibility you have with your dose, and the trust the doctors place in you as the patient experiencing depression is so refreshing and validating. Anyway, I could go on, but the basics are this: If you have treatment resistant depression and/or anxiety, ketamine therapy might be helpful. Joyous makes it simple and maintains professionalism and respect for the patient as they work with you to get the best results based on dosage and the timeframe you need to be on the medication. I'm very happy with my experience.

I work in public safety, and read up on the benefits of ketamine therapy. But I originally thought it was confined to clinics anecdotally I have heard from multiple friends in this industry of nothing but positive things with ketamine therapy. You do not deal with the side effects of SSRI and you can start and stop as you need to, the therapy has helped me greatly. I am currently taking a pause due to traveling and I think the end goal for everyone should hopefully just be to use this therapy as needed. I am super grateful for the joyous care team!

Low dose ketamine treatment cured my PTSD! In my opinion, it is an incredible and powerful tool that can be used to slay internal dragons. I would recommend having a really good therapist before starting treatment, or at least know exactly what you are trying to process. It’s not like an anti-depressant that you just take every day and expect it to fix your life. It’s like a crystal ball that you can look through to see the path that you need to take to untangle yourself from mental traps you can’t seem to get out of on your own. It sounds strange, but literally the only way I can explain it is with a metaphor like this. Joyous is a good company to go with, affordable and reliable. They aren’t perfect, but they do care and will always get things taken care of for you one way or another. In order to have the best experience I would recommend familiarizing yourself with the patient dashboard. The dashboard will show you when you will receive refills or if they require an action from you BEFORE your refill can take place. It often doesn’t just auto-refill so stay on top of that and you should be good! After 6 months of treatment I no longer need it so I have cancelled my membership. It’s honestly so effective—hopefully they can stay in business!

I’ve tried so many medications over the past decade and this is the only thing that has been so successful! After taking it a little over a year the only side effect I had experienced was a little nausea which subsided after around a month. I’m so grateful to have my life back and couldn’t be more thankful I found joyous.

Signing up was easy. My Rx always came on time. The assigned nurse/medical person was professional. So far it’s been straightforward to cancel. I feel like my mental health has improved as a measure of overall lower anxiety and less frequent depressive symptoms. Therefore I’m canceling now, knowing I can sign up again if I need to.

The treatment plan really worked for me. Low dose Ketamine has made a HUGE diff in my day-to-day anxiety levels AND my ability to cope with my anxiety. The staff at Joyous is terrific - very kind and thoughtful.
