*Subject:** 7-Month Passport Delay I have been waiting for my passport application for **7 months**, far exceeding the 2-week standard. I have exhausted all formal communication channels (email, phone, official complaints) and have received no reply from anyone. The lack of communication is unacceptable. This is a complete failure of public service. My case is a clear example of bureaucratic indifference and lack of accountability. I am still waiting for a response and a solution.

New passport app - third request for resubmission - each time takes them x6 weeks before they tell you to resubmit. General obfuscation and incompetence. I am actually IN Ireland on hols and can walk in & sort it today but they tell me I HAVE to resubmit from AUSTRALIA & take ANOTHER 6 wks ffs!

I am the authorising person for a passport application. The office said they can’t get hold of me. They haven’t tried. The applicant has tried twice. Today they have ‘thrown out’ the application again… but no one has tried to call. Absolute shambles.

The passport office said they “returned “the original documents , but no date or tracking number given. We never got them. I Submitted a formal complaint which is being ignored. I had to pay out more money out for FBR originals and they said another 6 months months for FBR and then I can reapply for passport. Awful service no accountability for their mistakes.

My passport renewal was returned as the picture was not acceptable. Two telephone calls and two advisers would not say why it was not accepted but made several different and contradictory suggestions, including one that I was too close to the camera, and one that I was too far away. How am I supposed to take a new picture when they won't tell me what is wrong with the first one? Luckily I am in a position where I can apply for a British passport so I asked them to cancel the application. Now I am told that the documents will be returned within fifteen working days of the cancellation, thus delaying my application for a British passport. (It is now seventeen days since the cancellation) They cannot tell me what is going on and can only fob me off with an email address. Possibly even worse is that they won't process the refund of my application fee until thirty days after the cancellation. I don't know whether this is incompetence, lack of training or deliberate obstruction. Whatever it is, things need to change.

Outstanding service . Ordered a renewal passport last minute and was here in less than three days despite estimated date given being 2 weeks! just in time for my holiday was perfect. Would 100% use again and recommend to anyone

Almost impossible for me, an Irish citizen to get a passport, they've returned my application now three times looking for further documents. Unfortunately the "O" in my name was never entered on my birth cert but I have been using it since I was a child (47 years old now). All my interactions with the state i.e revenue, welfare, HSE all have my name on file containing the "O". I bet if my name was Michael the third junior McGinley/Stokes/Connors or MccArthy with no birth cert and I couldn't read or write I would have my passport within weeks. Same goes if I was from the bowels of Afghanistan and I had a name they couldn't even pronounce. They hand these passports out like smarties to the British, but if you're Irish you haven't a hope of getting one.

Irish born new application. Photobooth photo code upload (2 attempts but had refund on set that didn't meet criteria). Witness:Lecturer LANDLINE (she put call divert to mobile phone whilst on holiday) missed call but voice mail message to call back was answered immediately ... 3 questions from a lovely efficient lady, that was it. The passport tracking was spot on !! Great to watch progress and witness contacted 4 days before expected completion date. Passport arrived to Midlands 3 days after it was marked as posted. Birth cert and old passport to follow in 15 days. 🤞 Time scale : 6 weeks 4 days Brilliant service
