I hired IVL for a move to New York to Detroit. The guys did a fantastic job. The crew showed up on time, packed well, and I got everything with no damage. I would use them again if needed.

IVL did my out of state move to CO. It was for a four-bedroom house which also included a car and baby grand piano. My sales rep Justin, was great! He sent a rep to do an on-site survey and spent a lot of time with me. I was very nervous about hiring a mover considering everything I read online. The main reason I went with IVL was based on their reviews and my comfort level with Justin. The movers did their job great and packed everything to perfection. They were also very punctual on both ends. I got everything with no damages which I was pleased about. I also didn't have any hidden charges or communication issues. All in all my experience was great! I would work with them again if needed.

My move to Los Angeles went well. I've used IVL before and decided to give them a second chance because my first experience was excellent. I dealt with Brian, Alex, and Lisa, who did a great job staying on top of things. The guys showed up on time and did what they needed to do. The move took about a week from start to finish, and I got everything with no damage. I would work with IVL again if needed.

I hired International Van Lines back in 2014 and decided to use them again for my move from Canada to Boston, MA. It was for a 3 bedroom home, full packing and crating. My sales rep Justin, was great at walking me through the process. The crew showed up on time, packed well, and did a great job overall. I've moved several times in my life, and my experience with IVL was the best. I would use them again.

WORST HIRING DECISION WE EVER MADE! Our domestic long-distance move with International Van Lines was supposed to involve one truck and five days to pack and drive directly to our new home. Instead, it ended up taking 31 days, 7 to 8 truck loads (none of which were owned or operated by IVL or its employees), stops at numerous other locations, and cost almost twice the original estimate, when you add in the three-week forced hotel stay while our goods were held hostage in an undisclosed storage facility. It was a nightmare from start to finish. Our belongings were three times held hostage while demands for more money (sometimes cash only) were made. Our things were damaged, and some are missing. Their packing was negligent and resulted in many damaged or destroyed items. There was no inventory control--we even ended up with someone else's belongings, and nothing was done about that, even though IVL was informed. All the promises and guarantees made by IVL when we hired them were broken. Communication was horrible--inefficient, rude, and unprofessional--throughout. Before the nightmare was even over, they first offered us money to be quiet, then threatened to sue us if we spoke out about our experiences. Such behavior certainly explains their good online reviews. By the way, we have all this in writing. I've never experienced such deceptive and/or incompetent business practices in my life. A horrible experience I've ever had with a moving company. No useful information on the delivery date; no one will answer your questions/call/ email accurately; behavior of these people gets substantial changes before and after you make contract with them. you'll be up on the air with no information on your delivery date. If you want to use them for your move, make sure to reserve a hotel for a month, as you will not be informed on your delivery.

Based on the good reviews online I contacted IVL for a quote for my move from the USA to Germany. The sales person was very nice and I had the impression that they know what they're doing. I gave all information about my situation (no elevator, long way to truck/container and parking situation). My information were recognized but when the packing & loading team arrived on the day of the move I realized the information were completely ignored. The team was not prepared for the move and it took them 11 hours to get everything done. When I moved three years ago with the same household it took professional movers only 3 hours for the job with the same amount of people. In Germany I was waiting for my container to arrive. I was notified 2 days before arrival of the container about the final invoice with the need to pay it before they can release the container. That was not possible for me to send the money from Germany within 2 days as it was already known from the previous process so that the container was delayed in the harbor and caused additional costs. IVL claimed they sent me the invoice 10 days earlier but they also sent me proof (log file / invoice date) that they didn't. It was clear that the delay was caused by IVL but all discussions didn't help, they forced me to pay for the additional costs of about $1500 to get my belongings back. After I paid the invoice IVL completely ignored my emails with refund requests. IVL is not professional and not at all customer oriented. They know that the people need their belongings and utilize that shamelessly to increase costs and push financial responsibilities to the customer. Please do yourself a favor and never work with them if there is room for a mistake - they will make it and you will pay for it.

I worked with a moving company once before and had a good experience. This time around it was for a cross country move so I wanted to make sure I went with someone reputable. IVL was suggested by several consumer groups so I went with them. The movers were on-time, packed well and delivered on-time. My rep Justin was easy to work with. He explained all the details and everything he sold came true. I would work with them again.
