REVISED REVIEW- How IDNID addresses customer service issues
Below, you will find my initial complaint. Here is the revision. I ended up filing a complaint against IDNID because they did not pay me for my diamonds, as agreed. Their customer service was giving me conflicting messages and delayed addressing my outstanding payment. I was afraid I had just been scammed and rightfully so. 9 AM the following day after I posted my complaints, I received a call from one of their founders. He was extremely, extremely sympathetic and apologized profusely. He immediately addressed the issue and I received my payment the very next day. I am modifying my one star to four, as the IDNID customer service representative did not do as she committed. She let me 'fall through the cracks.' I had to take action to find resolution and this caused enormous anxiety all during holidays. The problem was that there was one customer service representative who did not do her job effectively, and unfortunately for her, she neglected someone who is very vocal about attention to customers.
As far as the company goes, I feel that my incident was a fluke. It was a one-off. I do not feel as though this is their standard way of treating clients. In fact, I now believe they are fantastic to sellers and buyers... FANTASTIC!!! Their founder was a really good manager and truly listened to me and my difficulties. He assured me this is NOT how they do business (and I believe him). He went above and beyond to fix this problem, thus the four stars. So readers are aware, I have several other items posted for sale on their site and I feel confident things will run smoothly.
IDNID is a good decision.
ORIGINAL COMPLAINT: I corresponded via email with I Do Now I Don't after selling my diamond engagement ring and never received payment. The buyer purchased the ring, wire transferred money to the company. The company inspected, approved and released my ring to the buyer, who received it (and texted me to let me know when it arrived). I emailed multiple times to find out where my check was. ALL VIA EMAIL: I was told on 11/8 the check would be expedited. I was told it went out regular mail 11/18. I was told on 11/24 that I Do Now I Don't would "check" to see if my money went out. I never heard back. I have filed a complaint with the BBB. Seller beware.

Best Place For Engagement Rings
I was so scared to buy a ring from IDNID but after reading many reviews and emailing them a couple times with questions I felt pretty comfortable. I ended buying an engagement ring and selling an old wedding ring in the same week so I'll give reviews for both processes.
When it comes to buying an engagement ring this is the only place you should be looking! Having been previously married I knew that the retail value for a diamond is completely bogus and you should never pay that. My boyfriend and I were looking for a diamond that we'd have set into a different ring so I wasn't concerned with the ring itself when I was looking. My rule when shopping at IDNID was that I wanted a 50% discount, this was my own rule not something everyone needs to obey. I'd find a diamond I liked then I’d compare it to the retail price of a diamond with the same specs on a wholesaler website. There are many many MANY jewelers on this site so a lot of the rings on there aren't really a great deal. The key is to buy from an individual, you can usually tell by the quality of the photo if it's a jeweler or just someone selling their used ring. After 2 months of searching I found the perfect diamond and made the purchase. We used our credit card so I can't comment on the financing option. So we purchased the ring and the hard part started (the waiting). I was a nervous wreck for 3 weeks. Some things to note. IDNID says it takes an average of 1.5-2 weeks to get your purchase, I’d expect 3 weeks, but it may be quicker depending on how many items they receive in that time. They are really bad at updating you on the status of your order BUT with that said if you email them asking for an update you’ll get a reply pretty quickly with the details. After 20 days my ring finally arrived and I’m blown away with its beauty! The ring gets appraised by a company called Accredited Gemological Institute in New York. You receive a beautiful certificate stating all the specs and the value of the ring. This is a third party company that does a proper appraisal. Being a very thorough person I took the ring for a second appraisal at a local lab. I didn’t give the lab any details about the diamond as I wanted to confirm the details were the same and they were almost exactly the same as AGI stated, Color dropped from E to F but that didn't bother me. I told the gemologist how much I paid for the ring ($8000) and he said that for him to buy that diamond wholesale from a supplier it would have been $15,000! Now that everything is done and confirmed I couldn’t be happier, I’d recommend this company to anyone who would listen to me when it comes to buying diamonds!!
Selling a ring was just as easy as buying. I listed the ring just out of curiosity. After about a week of being on the site I got a message from someone asking for a lower price. I agreed, lowered the price and he bought it right away. I packaged the ring up and sent it by FedEx. As mentioned above IDNID isn’t great with updating their site. I saw the item was received by them but it wasn’t until 2 days later that the website said they received it. I emailed them a couple times for updates and always got prompt responses with the details. 17 days after the ring was sold I got my check from them. The only down side is the 15% commission but knowing that, price your item accordingly. Even with the 15% commission become taking off I still got more for the ring than I would have locally.
This really is an excellent business. It’s obvious they are very busy, which is a great sign that a lot of people trust them. I wouldn’t hesitate at all buying/selling anything from them.

Very Responsive
The services provided as a mediary between a buyer and seller are simply inspired. Both are beneficiaries. The comfort level created fosters confidence in the process.
Beyond this basic structure, they offered exceptional customer service and, in my case, even accommodated a break in policy to expedite the delivery of my rings before my fiancée was scheduled to return home to another country.
I will always look here first when buying jewelry!

Pricing is not accurate
Everyone on this site puts up the estimated replacement cost letter they get when buying their engagement rings. That's not the cost of the ring itself, it's an estimate for insurance purposes and insurance companies will let companies estimate thousands more than you buy it for. Also many rings can't be resized well without the smaller diamonds falling out frequently. Most important of all, you can find uncertified, in house certified/graded, and GIA graded diamond rings cheaper online.

professional, courteous and trusted
When I was looking for a place to sell my unwanted jewelry there weren't many options available. Fortunately I found I do now I don't. After checking their website and reading many positive reviews, I contacted them via email. They answered all my questions and provided me with the information I needed to make my decision. Their offer for an immediate sale was made in a timely manner and was fair market value. I was pleased with the experience and would use them again. Highly recommended.

Largely a Good Experience
When I got divorced, I was heartbroken at what little financial investment I was able to recoup from my wedding rings. It was then that I started learning about the terrible resale value of jewelry. A few years later, and in a serious long term relationship, I began obsessing over not paying retail for another engagement ring. Almost as soon as I began researching the internet, I came across several articles explaining the premise of I Do Now I Don’t. Their website is relatively straightforward, and I didn’t even need to sign up to peruse the market place. On their website, they have several well known endorsements of companies or television shows that have verified that they are a legit business.
I perused the market place for several months looking at engagement rings in my price range. It’s very different, buying a ring online- pictures of the rings are not standardized, and some sellers only have photographs that seem like poor quality cell phone cameras. I actually went to in-person retail jewelry stores to try to get an idea of what styles of rings that I preferred for my particular finger shape. I also wanted to do this to reacquaint myself with the ridiculousness that is retail priced jewelry, so I had the highest likelihood of being able to tell if I was getting the best that I can afford.
IDNID does not only sell preowned jewelry. They also have some jewelers selling brand new pieces on their website. I saw a lot of preowned rings that I liked, but I ended up purchasing a new ring from one of these jeweler sellers. The seller was nice (not all the sellers are), she sent me a 360 view of the ring via email, offered free sizing which saved me a couple hundred dollars, and a small discount on the selling price, and sent the ring in a new Cartier-style box.
Now the hard part. After I purchased the ring, I had to wait. And wait. And wait. I began to be concerned that I was going to get ripped off after all, so I reached out to IDNID several times via email and once by phone. Everyone at IDNID was VERY prompt with their responses, but a bit curt. I am someone who prides themselves on being professional and courteous, and the IDNID responses I received were one line responses with very little attention to grammar and ettiquette. I put a very large chunk of my trust in IDNID on my credit card; and I felt like I was pulling teeth to get anyone to talk to me. I ordered the ring on October 4th, and did not receive it until October 21st. I was worried.
But I had no need to be.
October is a big month for Jewish holidays, and some folks at IDNID needed time off to celebrate those special days. I actually spoke with a colleague of mine to better understand the importance of these holidays so that I could increase my level of patience and lower anxiety. Once the appraisal was complete, I had the ring in my hands two days later via Fed Ex overnight standard.
My ring is smaller than I expected, because I didn’t think to ask for any pictures of the ring on someone’s finger, I only had still shots on a jewelry stand, and the 360 view of the ring on a small dais that was rotating.
BUT I love this ring.
Even though it’s not as big as I wanted, it’s still a delectable piece of jewelry. It’s delicately feminine, has a ton of glitter power, and has most of what I wanted in an engagement ring including a twisted shank, double halo, and even a small yellow gold accent cup that holds the center stone.
Another really great part of this ring is that IDNID sent an actual appraisal done by the Accredited Gemological Institute. Unfortunately, I don’t know what the seller had been trying to sell this for in their store, but I purchased this ring for approximately 44.5% of the appraised value.
I COULD afford this ring at the appraised value price, but I didn’t have to. I received a brand new, stunning ring for a comfortable price. I could’ve used some more hand holding from IDIND, but I’m happy.

Happy Experience! Highly Recommend!
I relocated and bought a house, and needed a little extra padding around closing. I was recommended to the site by family, and was made an instant offer on my former wedding set by the site. While the check wasn't for appraisal value, that is to be expected with resale. I would highly recommend the Instant Offer feature, if you find yourself in a situation where you need some extra cash
