Hera is the antithesis of the traditional engagement ring experience. We’ve swapped pressure and pretension for collaboration and fun, tossing in a few essential elements like ethical production, inclusivity, and thoughtful education along the way. Sure, we’re fine jewelers with a knack for crafting one-of-a-kind, heirloom-quality engagement rings. But more than that, we’re your guides and support as you navigate one of the most exciting parts of your “I do” journey. And we can’t wait to help you find or create the ring of your dreams.

Petra was such a great to help for me she helped me design the perfect ring to propose and my fiancé loves it!! The design process was easy and everything was well coordinated. I would 10/10 recommend this place as i had went to many different jewelry places but this was the only place that i felt could really do the custom that i was looking for and they delivered perfectly!!

Great experience, beautiful ring
We had a great experience with Hera. Our consultations were low-pressure and very informative, and the final result is beautiful. Our consultant Kerryclare was so friendly and responsive via email to our many questions, and she even pulled some strings to get the ring done faster than initially expected. I’m very proud to get to wear a beautifully crafted Hera ring for the rest of my life!

We had a wonderful experience with the Hera team! They provide great educational resources and answered all of our questions. There was no pressure in the process, so we had the freedom to pick the piece we loved best. Couldn’t be more happy with the final product — my ring is gorgeous and I get so many compliments on it

I chose HERA because of their extensive content about hand-selecting diamonds, craftsmanship, and quality control. I spent nearly $6,000 on a 14k hand-engraved ring with a 2.5+ ct lab-grown diamond, and unfortunately my experience did not match the premium standards that influenced my decision.
From the beginning, I was clear about the appearance and light performance I wanted. The first stone HERA sourced had essentially the opposite characteristics. I ultimately replaced it and was charged a $556 restocking fee.
After receiving my completed ring, I also discovered unintended marking/texture inside one corner of the basket/prong area. Initially, I was essentially told this was acceptable handmade variation. I went back through HERA’s own QC content, sent them their own video discussing tool markings, and continued questioning how my ring had passed QC. Only after I continued pushing was the matter escalated to senior management.
After reviewing the ring with HERA’s Lead Designer and Production Manager, I was told the milgrain wheel had apparently contacted the prong in that corner. I was not offered a complimentary remake; I could keep the ring as-is or discuss paying for a remake.
I also challenged the $556 restocking fee using HERA’s own advertising about hand-selecting stones. They initially offered $375, and after I pointed out that I had paid $556, they agreed to refund the full amount.
I appreciate the eventual refund, but my biggest disappointment is how hard I had to advocate for myself. I expected the stone-selection expertise, craftsmanship, and QC HERA advertises to be evident before my nearly $6,000 ring reached me—not something I would have to use their own videos to fight for afterward.
There are aspects of my ring I love, but knowing what I know now, I would choose a different jeweler.
UPDATE IN RESPONSE TO HERA:
I want to clarify two important points in HERA’s response.
HERA emphasizes that I “selected and personally approved” the original diamond. I did approve the stone HERA sourced and presented to me because I was relying on their advertised expertise. I am not a diamond expert. In fact, HERA’s own advertising specifically explains that clients cannot be expected to know how to choose the perfect diamond themselves—that is why their hand-selection service was important to me.
I had been clear from the beginning about the characteristics I wanted, yet the stone sourced for me was essentially the opposite. I was also already committed to the project when I was told choosing another stone would increase the price by approximately $800. I don’t believe describing this simply as a stone I “personally approved” provides the full context.
I also want to clarify HERA’s characterization of the finishing issue as “natural variation.” My complaint was never that handmade milgrain should be perfectly uniform. After reviewing my ring internally, HERA’s Senior Client Experience Manager told me in writing that “it appears the wheel slightly contacted the prong in that one corner.” That specific contact and the resulting area shown in my photos are what I questioned.
Finally, HERA describes the $556 refund as a “gesture of goodwill.” I appreciate that they refunded it, but the full refund came only after I repeatedly raised my concerns, referenced HERA’s own stone-selection advertising, and escalated the matter to senior management.
I believe prospective customers deserve that context when reading both my review and HERA’s response.
Response from Hera Fine JewelryAug 24, 2026
Hi Amanda, thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re sorry that, despite the time and care our team devoted to sourcing, production, and working through your concerns with you, your overall experience did not meet your expectations.
Before production began, you reviewed center-stone options and selected and personally approved the diamond originally used in your ring. After the ring was complete, you let us know that you would prefer a different stone. Although the original diamond had already been approved and set, we agreed to accommodate the change and source a replacement.
A restocking fee was initially applied because, as a small business, we incur a real cost when returning an approved stone to our supplier; as a gesture of goodwill, we ultimately refunded that fee in full.
We also took the finishing detail you raised seriously and had it reviewed by our Lead Designer and Production Manager. Our milgrain is applied by hand, and subtle variation is inherent to this type of artisan finishing in a way that differs from details created entirely within a computer model, which we discuss with clients when selecting hand-finished details.
Their assessment was that the texture falls within the range of natural variation that can occur during the milgrain application process, is not considered a craftsmanship defect, and does not affect the structural integrity of the ring. Because further work in that area could compromise the surrounding hand engraving and milgrain, additional intervention was not recommended.
We recognize that this assessment did not align with how you viewed the finishing detail, and we understand that this contributed to your disappointment. We take both our craftsmanship and our client experience seriously and made several accommodations throughout the process in an effort to address your concerns while preserving the integrity of the finished ring.
We respect that your overall impression of the experience is different, and we appreciate the opportunity we had to review your concerns thoroughly and work through them with you directly.

Great experience and beautiful bands
We had a wonderful experience working with Kerryclare on our wedding bands. She offered all of the ways we were able to customize the bands and was very helpful and responsive with all of our questions. We did notice one small mistake on one of them, but it was rectified quickly. The bands were made on time, fit and look great, and we can't wait to wear them.

Couldn’t be happier
We went the bespoke route but did have an in person consultation with Jessalynn at the Pasadena location. She was very kind and showed us everything we asked for. We were aware of the timeline for bespoke rings. We went in March and got our ring delivered in August. We went back and forth on what design we wanted so that was more on us. When we finalized it, the ring was made faster than we anticipated and are in awe of the ring. It was definitely worth the wait and had all the touches that make Hera rings unique. We will be back when deciding on a wedding band.
