Installation of my new sewer line began on March 8, 2017 ny Robert and Carlos. The area of work was a relatively narrow between my tulip tree and raised flower bed. Robert did an excellent job with the backhoe, preserving almost all of the plants, which I appreciated very much. Unfortunately by day 2, it was determined that my sewer line was more complicated than expected, and digging would be required on the other side of the tree. Robert explainec that it would require a second backflow valve, but I would not be charged for it. Needless to say I was very appreciative of that. By day 3 work (Fri), it was determined that my 90ft tree was in danger of falling and required emergency removal. Robert explained they could finish the job inside my basement by installing a sump pump and pvc piping to connect to soil pipe. Again, Robert did his best to explain what would be done, and that I would incur no additional charge for the change of plans. The work was completed a few days into the following week (they had to come back to reroute a vent that was causing a problem). Robert also did a good job of trying to level off the dirt in my yard after the tree came down, even doing his best to clean mud off of the street. I appreciate all the work Robert and Carlos did during an extremely stressful experience. I do regret not asking if the remainder of the sewer work could have been done ithe following Monday in my yard after the tree was removed instead of going through the basement, thereby avoiding the sump pump. I have never had a sump pump, and didn't know what to expect with one, or what questions to ask about it. I was too panicked about the tree falling to process Robert's explanation as to just how much pvc would be involved, and how the end result would look.

We had difficulty with Hope Plumbing causing us to be without hot water for an additional 2 days unnecessarily. After scheduling an appointment for Monday morning, we were told there was an emergency and the plumber would not be at our house until the afternoon. At 3pm, with no one there yet, I finally called and they indicted that the plumber was still at the emergency. I asked for a different plumber and was told the person who quotes the job does the work. They finally guaranteed the plumber Tues morning and Josh did show up. Josh taped the gas pipe on the outside of the house but he told us the gas meter wasn't working since there was no gas coming through the meter. We called the gas company and told them the meter was bad and they came out and said that if the plumber was licensed he would have known that the orange paint on the meter meant that there was a plug in the meter which did not allow gas to go through the pipe. He also said someone had turned the meter on and that was not allowed - it was a federal offense for anyone to turn the gas meter on and that it can only be done by the gas company. He looked at Josh's tape job and said it was not done appropriately for new piping & the gas company would not approve it & did not turn the gas on. The gas company guy even called his supervisor to consult on the tape job. So we were another day without hot water. I called Jack Hope Plumbing at 9am Wed morning and ask for Jack Hope or Brad to call me. At 11:30am, no call. I finally called back & said to send someone who knows how to tape the pipe on the outside so that the gas company would approve it and turn the gas back on. Josh came back out and re-did his work and then sat in his truck in our driveway until 7pm waiting for the gas company to show up. I'm sure the gas company was tired of making a 3rd trip out to our house. The gas company finally showed up at 7pm and was immediately called out to a gas emergency but assured us that they would be back. At 7 pm Josh left. The gas company did come back at 9pm and did approve the taping of the outside pipe but said there was a loose bolt to the pipe connected to the hot water heater. He was kind enough to tighten it and turn the gas back on. So we were without gas and hot water Mon & Tues night unnecessarily. It was finally turned on at 9pm on Wed night. Josh, in my opinion, was unprofessional and constantly degraded the gas company indicating that they don't know what they were talking about. I only called Jack Hope plumbing because of the advertisement on the Pat Sullivan radio show & Pat Sullivan indicated that Jack Hope used to work for him and was a good guy. I will NOT be recommending Jack Hope Plumbing to anyone!

They take the time to find the problem. They charge as they go so they know the real problem and you don't pay to fix things that aren't broke.
