The sheer incompetence of the entire Hire Right staff I have dealt with is beyond extraordinary. Their total mishandling of my background check has cost me a job. I have noticed that many people have shared my misfortune with Hire Right. I think a class action suit may be in order. Is anyone interested in pursuing this matter? I am willing to take the lead for this action though I do not know how to determine the users who may support this action. I'll contact Trust Pilot and determine if I may post a personal email address.

I have been in hell with this company for the last two weeks as they attempt to "verify" my employment in anticipation of a new job I'm accepting. They have done literally nothing and forced me to do all the work to provide them every bit of information. Their workers CANNOT WRITE A SENTENCE IN ENGLISH so i'm completely confused what they are asking me half the time. They spit back an unacceptable report to my potential employer after they were "unable to verify" basic information, making me feel like I'm the sleuth here. I've been hired by many companies and never faced this much effort. Its impossible to talk with a human, they take days to respond but give you just 1 day to respond to them. TERRIBLE.

Had a check by another firm 5 months ago for another role - no flags, issues or concerns. Done in 3 business days. Hired. No issues. Now working through these folks for another role. Night and day. 4 business days in and all they have done is said they cant verify employment at certain places and ask me for more info around these company "affiliations" - said they couldnt reach these firms either. These are LARGE companies, of course they are broadly affiliated. Further, based on these reviews I contacted the companies directly...you guessed it - Hireright never even attempted contact. There is zero record. I asked Hireright to specify when and how they attempted contact. Nothing back. Already, sadly, having to think about "what's next" in terms of how to navigate this. As others have mentioned, they seem to take no action and repeatedly claim they cant verify. Is it negligence if you, literally, sit around and do nothing? It's what appears to be happening. Companies like this have the potential to ruin lives. Very negligent.

This is outrageous! I am a professional manager of over 25 years. Gave precise phone/contact numbers. This company flagged me more than once -" unable to reach employer". I gave them documentation, in which they stated "was insufficient". I literally step by step had to resend circle and notate each documentation piece and title. Maybe this time they could find someone to actually read it. By the end of this fiasco, the report came back to show people they called that weren't even ON the sheet I gave them!!! Who hires people here? they are complete morons. Peoples lives are at stake. We go through three or more interviews just to have some shmo who cannot do their job try to flag me? I had to write the new company and walk them through step by step, what this company did, and how incompetent they were, so I wouldn't lose my position to another candidate! This company needs to fold, or hire outside of the window licker collection.

Useless, Incompetent, Waste of space type of organisation. You will be conducting your own background check. Never in my life have I ever gone through a more stressful process such as I have with this organisation. They are lazy and useless and are costing people their job offers. They are invasive and can certainly commit identity fraud and theft with the amount of information they ask you to download on to their portals. They complete reports without you finishing uploading it and then they proceed to fail you out of pure laziness from their research team. DO NOT USE. IF A COMPANY TELLS YOU THIS IS WHO DOES THEIR CHECKS...RUNNN. THEY SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN!!!!!!!

I put 1 star only because I couldn't put less Hire right is the MOST incompetent company I have E-V-E-R had to deal with if I did that sorry of a job I would get fired and deservedly so.

I should give -100 to this company but they force you here to provide at least one 1 star. This company is the worst ever thing I have seen in my entire life. They do not do their job. Everything I have read in the other comments is valid. 1. Email system is not working, 2. They ask for documentation for everything even for super old contracts. 3. They rarely contact HR from your previous works and when they cannot understand the documentation they just clear it with "Not verified" 4. If you provide contacts to call or send emails to, with the intention of helping them reach your past employers they just ignore you although they say they will contact them. 5. They put you at serious risk of losing your job offer because they do not do their job. 6. They are invasive and arrogant and they take so long time (1 month) for doing an incomplete and wrong check. 7. If you have worked abroad it is likely that they are not able to check that position for you. 8. They will not inform you about the process or the stage leaving you in a holding state for weeks. 9. They do not justify their report thoroughly to the hiring company they just put a series of checks not checked without saying what they have tried to verify that positions. 10. Next time you are looking for a job ask first who is the background check company and if it is HireRight quit the interview.
