I usually enjoy my visits but Disappointed in this one.
I always enjoy my trips to my local H‑E‑B. Always fast and friendly. I am 70 years old and stopped at the new H‑E‑B in 1488 in Magnolia. I was on my way for a get together with some old classmates at a classmates home in Huntsville Texas. I picked up 3 large fruit trays for the party. I was very disappointed in the quality and flavor in it. Strawberries were really good but the rest lacked a lot to be desired. Watermelon was flavorless, cantaloupe was hard with little flavor, pineapple had some good and some hard pieces with little flavor, and the grapes were I guess fair. I was disappointed to say the least and I guess my classmates weren’t very impressed either because the first one (only one) that got opened was not even finished. There was 23 people there. Anyway I just wanted to make y’all aware.

Cold items arrive warm.
First, I recently moved 50 yards down the street and H‑E‑B online delivery changed my store to a location 30 minutes away. As a crow flies perhaps it’s closer, but the original store assigned to me is only 10 minutes away. If I order anything cold the groceries show up hot, and via versa.
Additionally, the new store doesn’t accept wine or beer selections on the app (no problems when I was assigned to the other store). Apparently H‑E‑B doesn’t need the $2 K I spend each month on wine, because I’ve called several times to report both issues and they refuse (or don’t know how) to fix it.

I bought a family pack ground chuck ground beef June 6, 2023. I bought the big package because I feed a lot of children when I went and took it out of the freezer to defrost it immediately turn brown. I wish I could post a picture of this meat that cost me almost $17 and I pay cash for my groceries I’m not on food stamps or welfare etc. it seems at H-E-B has gotten like the rest of the businesse all about the money I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau and I will be emailing the picture of the ground beef just like Goodwill. They say they help a lot of organizations but in our reality they don’t they don’t even care that they could be poisoning people. I should be calling the department of health as well.

This store does not stand behind their return policy. Even when I pointed out the policy posted on the wall behind the service desk the manager just shrugged and refused to comply with the policy.

HEB doesn't care
in most cases I understand things better than most people as I used to work in a grocery store and know the things that happen. I also know that if you remove a product from the store, there should be a specific reason the store should be able to answer with, especially a manager. They stopped carrying Hill Country Fare Ice Cream at my HEB, where I had always been able to buy it and that it was $2 for a 1.5 qt.....it was affordable for me compared to the $7 for a 1/2 gal of Creamy Creations. They had apparently gone through a frozen area reset which I understand as I have gone thru them before, and understand why they're done. I asked a manager why they no longer had the HCF ice cream 1.5 qt and they were oblivious to why, guessing it was probably because they are a smaller store. There is another location 2 mi away that is smaller than my HEB and they carry it, so that answer was BS. Getting no where at the store, I messaged HEB on Twitter, who wanted my phone # and email, although I told them no if all they are gonna do is have someone at the store contact me...I told them I wanted to talk to someone at corporate, which they finally relented to having someone from customer relations email me back. After 2 weeks, I have heard NOTHING from ANYONE.
They basically did what the store usually does and just blew me off. The standard answer at most stores (I have experienced this with various locations) is to tell you to goto another location if you can't find something at your normal location. Sorry I'm not driving somewhere else to get something I've always gotten at my HEB.
Bottom line HEB doesn't care.....they only care about making money and bringing in a bunch of stuff to a store that no one cares about while getting rid of product many customer depend upon. They used to be a great store, but at this point I'm sure Florence Butt is rolling over in her grave as to how customers are treated. The statement from commercials of 'Here Everything's Better' is a flat out lie - it's merely a marketing stunt.

The staff are not customer/service…
The staff are not customer/service oriented. I asked to change my pickup time to move it to one of the earlier available slots, and I was told it would "totally upset their work process." When I tried to argue that this was a bit unfair and inflexible to customers, I was dismissed. Fine, you don’t have to care about my concerns as a customer, and I don't have to shop with you.

H EB in Lakeway has turned to the dark…
H EB in Lakeway has turned to the dark side and I do mean that I've been going there for a while and years and I've never had this problem with any other H EB except the one in Lakeway what the problem is here is the people are unprofessionally trained they do not know that they cannot just put their hands on your personal property and they are not able to have a store manager on hand to check out anything to see if this is a legal act what they did to me and I couldn't believe they did that but yet they invite me back in the store what is up with that I have never had even a traffic ticket and these people treat like everyone is stealing especially when you're walking out the door with a receipt in your hand it makes no sense. Avoid Lakeway H EB as much as you can there are other stores you can go to including Randall's Lakeway Whole Foods Albertson's many others but avoid H EB at all costs I no longer will give on my business.
