A uniquely beneficial mental health resource and service. The Dr.K's Guide makes sense out of the most important of complex psychological and neurological issues, and coaching helped me finally moving forward in what I actually want to do. Very based

I bought the guide and it has been the best investment in myself so far. I have been trying to understnad and heal myself for a while read lots of books and tried out lots of strategies but this is by far the best investment on myself :)

I’m giving it a 3 because I believe it can be better and probably is, but I did not have a good experience. My group leader just did not seem like she should’ve been a coach, not because of any lack of credentials or competence, but purely because she did not seem invested into providing coaching.

Hello Braden, Thank you for your review. We are currently working to improve client-coach matching to ensure that everyone is paired with the coach that's right for them, and this feedback goes a long way towards that. We'd also like to resurface that each coach has their own style, and it can take time to find the one that's the right fit for you. Our Customer Support Team can always re-assign you if your coach doesn’t feel like a good fit. If you're ever interested in giving coaching another try, we'd be happy to accommodate a better experience for you. If you have any further feedback, or are interested in discussing these accommodations in more detail, please reach out to us directly at [email protected]. We wish you the best and hope you find a solution that works for you! Sincerely, The Healthy Gamer Team

It's well worth the money for anyone unable to pursue therapy but it is also a great supplement on top of therapy for those who need extra support. This is not therapy as I'm sure is reiterated in other reviews, this is coaching and your coach can only help you so much. This experience is what you make of it and you can only help yourself as much as you are willing to share with the coach (or group). That being said, even if you're still hesitant about this- do consider group coaching over individual coaching not only because it is cheaper but because you do get multiple people to check in with rather than the one coach. This was what I did, I didn't know if this was right for me and now that I made it this far, I want to take it to the next level.

This was my 2nd time doing HG coaching. I can say its always nice to be able to express yourself without fear of judgment. A place where someone will hear you out, try to understand you and empathize with your experiences/trauma. I personally told my coaches that I liked my views/beliefs to be challenged, and feel like I grew a lot from having my perspective understood then questioned. It allowed me to see myself and my thinking from an outside perspective making it easier to find chips in my armor and change/heal them. I felt safe to speak on things that my body and mind would normally run from. I was able to express the true emotions I felt about my experiences/trauma while being comforted and reassured. I'd recommended HG to anyone who feels stuck, especially people who feel like they need to do everything alone. There is a lot to learn about self, and the best way to start imo is by expressing yourself to others.

I really enjoyed HG Coaching: Having a partnership with someone who was there to help me grow as a person was very useful, it helped a lot to see things from an outside perspective but that is probably an individualistic thing and the mileage may vary in general. In general, just having an authentic and compassionate person by your side is so helpful to people who haven't gotten that so much in the past, the mere act of even having one relationship like that in your life can do wonders for your mental health and life in general. It provides evidence that the same thing can be found in the real world. It provides hope to people who didn't get that opportunity in the past. People who used to be like me. (: I would say though, that as coaching is more akin to a partnership, the level of value you derive from it tends to increase exponentially depending on how much effort you put in, so if you give it a go don't expect it to be a walk in the park. Once again thank you the HG team for this experience.

I have tried several different professional mental health settings, but I have just completed my 20th session of one-on-one coaching and plan on signing up for more. I am not mental health expert, but I do believe that what Dr. K has created here is more directly and specifically addressing the mental health crisis, especially among young men. I cannot speak for experiences with this service outside of that demographic, but my coach has challenged and inspired me in areas where other mental health settings have left me disappointed and jaded. I also consider the sessions to be relatively affordable, though prepare to pay out of pocket. I also cannot speak for the group coaching, but if you are on the fence about one-on-one coaching I recommend you try it out, their billing department has always been communicative and helpful.
