Looks like I’m not the only person to have been scammed by this app. After signing up to a discounted service a year ago I only used the app 5 or 6 times. Today I received notification of an annual renewal of £77.10 being taken. No warning. I must have signed up to a small print instructing me to deselect autorenewal. Any company that does this has zero integrity in my books, it’s a cheap trick. It remains to be seen if they will refund me as I haven’t used the app and have no intention of using it this year. I have now deselected the auto renewal option. Hopefully you will see this response here.

A great tool to help you become more mindful of the present. I'm very happy with my purchase and have been using headspace everyday for almost a year now.

I'm afraid I am having terrible customer service, I couldn't cancel my subscription on line, have sent numerous emails and they just won't reply!!! Liz

Like the two reviews below mine, I have just had a full price annual renewal fee taken from my account without notice! Having initially tried their 'Free 10 Session' offer, at some point during 2017, and then constantly being asked if I want to 'upgrade', I eventually succumbed and took out an annual subscription in January last year, at their discounted rate of £44, which I also thought was for a 2 year subscription, not just 1! I wasn't aware I had ticked 'automatic renewal' until I suddenly discovered 4 days ago that they had taken £71.88 out of my account. I have barely used the app. not because it is difficult, but simply because I haven't made the time to do so. And when I looked the other day, it reminds me I haven't used the app at all in over 6 months. I have tried each day since Sunday 13th January to contact them via their website, as there is no phone number for them, but today I haven't heard back from them, except 1 automated response saying they will be in touch. I have now tried cancelling my subscription and unticked the 'automatic renewal'. Their 'live chat' is about as alive as Elvis, and each time I try using it, it just pushes to the FAQ's and then onto a 'submit a question' form. I like the app, but not companies that don't allow you to be able to contact them easily.

I originally subscribed for a year at a discounted rate. I loved the app and initially used it frequently. However as the year has passed through no fault but my own I have not used it as much and made the decision not to renew the subscription. HOWEVER BEWARE as others have mentioned they renew the subscription without any prior notice ( I did not receive any 30 day warning email ) . They also charged me the full price and I think as another reviewer pointed out how does that encourage loyal customers to stay? I give 2 stars not because of the app as I have no complaints about that but because of the terrible customer service and the sneaky automatic renewal system. Reviewed after my money was refunded however I still think the renewal method is wrong

After getting a recommendation of a colleague to start using HeadSpace and see if it would work for me I spent some time on their site and registered for a free account. I'd already been meditating for some time, so I wasn't planning on spending a lot of time with it from the get go. I created an account and later that evening noticed an e-mail stating that HeadSpace had gone ahead and charged my creditcard for the discounted yearly subscription. Apparently you sign up for a yearly subscription by clicking on the banner on the top of the site and then registering for a FREE account. Never in the whole registration process they've made it clear that you're actually purchasing a yearly subscription. So my warning, don't click on any local advertising on their site if you're interested in trying out the HeadSpace experience. Head back to the home page and register your actual free account from there. Like many others have noticed before me, they use really questioning business practices in order to take your money. They have yet to admit (if they ever will) that their interface is currently lacking and that they're working on it to solve this problem. On a sort of positive side, after 3 days their support contacted me. They however describe my experience with HeadSpace as an 'accidental purchase', which it clearly was not as I never agreed to any purchase. I should be receiving my money back in a few days according to their support, so I'll be waiting.

What a shame...what has happened to Headspace?? It seems to have turned into any other money grubbing business out there. I, like many, think Andy P is wonderful and he is genuine but sadly the way the company is trying to grow is proving that money is more important than the original concept. So all of the people who have an annual subscription get charged more and people who sign up now get 40% off... so loyalty doesn't count. Of course I could do what some of my friends have done and just sign up using a different email and bank account. On top of this I go to meditate and cannot get past the other 'stuff' about would I like my info to be shared with Advertisers and have targeted marketing etc. No I wouldn't! But when you do not accept I'm stuck with that page on the App. I can't use the service I've paid for and am now angry and stressed that this company is really just like all the others, Google, Apple, Facebook. How depressing.

Its no use if you use a Blackberry mobile phone. We signed up, then found it doesnt work on a blackberry, we used an old ipad2, but the app needs ios10, which isnt supported on an ipad2. We tried the website, but that doesnt work either on a blackberry mobile phone. We finally tried a pc via the url, again that doesnt really work, some clips play, but theres no sound. So overall, its been a waste of money due to the headspace developers not making it compatible with older devices & blackberry mobile phones. So rater than it being calming, headspace has been really stressful. We tried contacting headspace support, but no response to emails......
