my old halo collar eventually gave up the ghost and I ordered a new one. They’re very expensive and shipping costs $19.99. Meanwhile my dog is running loose getting into trouble. Two weeks later and there’s still no tracking information on the new collar. Halo did reach out and try to make it a better experience after I said something. When I tried to look up my order it would say “order not found” or “ no tracking information could be provided yet.” My collar finally arrived unexpectedly. There must have been a glitch in the system with the tracking. Other than the very stressful over two weeks of waiting on the collar, hoping my dog didn’t get flattened on the road, I would highly recommend these collars. Very very expensive but the last few weeks have made me realize how much better my life is with a Halo collar in it. My dog chewed through leashes and just generally found a way to follow my vehicle when I left home but she highly respects the boundaries when she has her collar. My old collar would lose connection sometimes (we had a fairly big fence set) and I’m hoping the new collar does a better job, but overall can’t complain about the functionality of the collar. Once I forget how much I paid for it, plus the extra couple weeks of stress of it not arriving I’m expecting satisfaction from here on out :)

Our large dogs seem to be responding well to it. We switched after our invisible fence broke for the last time. The collars seem to get loose easily, and I find that’s when they’re likely to leave boundaries. I like the app and being able to see where they are even if I’m not home and another family member lets them out. GPS and satellite drop more than I expected, since we’re in a fairly populated suburban area, but we do have 2 acres with large mature trees and near a nature preserve. I paid upfront for the premium subscription that is supposed to include weekly feedback and tips, but have yet to receive anything but 3-4 daily emails still trying to get me to purchase.

Overall we are enjoying the Halo product. Our dog is very responsive to the boundaries we have set. It took some time to get the boundaries right. We have noticed a battery life that is less robust than I expected but I’m attributing that to boundary responses.

The collars worked great - as long as there was gps signal. Unfortunately, my property is on a heavily wooded hillside and signal would drop out occasionally. My dogs are often moving too fast for the gps to catch up once they hit one of these dead spots and then they're outside the virtual fence. So, why the 4 stars? Because the return within the 60 day trial period was easy and fast. No risk in trying what might be a great solution for you (just not me)!

The process to go through is very precise and easy to understand and follow. I am not tech savvy at all, so everything took me longer to figure out, but I would watch the videos several times until I figured it out. Having access to watch the videos as many times as needed was helpful. I was frustrated with the online robot for questions. I reached out to ask a handful of questions at different times and was never able to get an answer that was helpful.

The tech associate provided courteous service. However, I am very concerned w/quality of the Halo collar. I have received two collars which have experienced charging & LED issues. Now will receive collar #3. At this point, if this collar doesn’t function as described, I will request a full refund.
