OK, the idea is great and the technology is almost there, but there things that need a lot of improvement. First there needs to be some option for narrow lots on which many of us live. This piece from the website reviews highlights the issue, "Our mini Aussie roams our few acre lot freely". That's swell, but if you live on a lot barely able to fit the house and the driveway, the pup gets buzzed a lot. This is a tech issue, I realize, but it needs to be fixed. Second, the app needs a lot of work. Slow to load and the interface to turn the fences on and off (on when she goes out, off when she's ready to come in) is a bit of a kludge, especially on a phone. Finally, the fact the app can only run on one phone is ridiculous. What about a couple home at different hours of the day and they want to play with their "baby"? Or are they supposed to have a separate "dog" phone? One more point. You can't leave feedback on the website. This is not good service.

This collar helped train our dog, but ultimately did not restrict him from leaving the yard. The Halo Team was very helpful and easy to work with.

Contacted support and spoke to Kadaija. She was great at assisting with the beacon issue! She provided great suggestions and was very friendly. Support has been easy to get a hold of - longest I’ve ever had to wait was 5 minutes and that was only one time. The reason I rated only 3 stars rather than 5 is because I’ve had multiple issues since purchase. First, my MIL purchased these collars as a gift and could not have it shipped directly to the state I’m in. She had to have it delivered to her state then ship it herself to me which we thought was ridiculous. Second, the first collar no longer worked and became a dead unit only after a few days of use. It took support 2 weeks to approve my warranty claim and I’ve yet to see the replacement arrive. Third, I experienced an issue with the indoor training beacon not sending signals to the collar. The collar would activate maybe 3/10 times which makes training ineffective. I’ll be following the suggestions Kadaija provided and hope it works.

We have enjoyed our Halo collar. We’ve only had one major problem with the collar while we weren’t home with it showing our dog out of the fence and she actually wasn’t upon arrival. We do wish the battery lasted longer and the collar cover is already coming apart- less than a year of purchase :(

Sabrina R at the dog park was very helpful with getting the replacement accessories ordered that I needed. I am disappointed with the virtual assistant help desk. No matter what I typed, the response was always to try asking my question another way. I am also disappointed in the durability of the collar. It lasted about 2 weeks before the contact tips fell out and the case that’s meant to protect the collar was destroyed from my dog scratching around the collar. The collar does its job when it isn’t broken.

I purchased a Halo 3 collar earlier this year. I was not able to use it because it would not charge. It took me two different tries with customer service to get anyone who could remotey help (the first person just kept telling me to do the steps I specified Ialready had done). The second agent suggested sending it in for warranty replacement. Second collar arrived. Thankfully it would charge. Set up fence, did all training, tested the collar holding it in my before using it on my dog. Very inconsistent results. Contacted customer service. Thankfully reached Sean R. who was super helpful and gave me some good suggestions. Going to follow his suggestions and see if the "fence" is working properly before I use it on my dog. I will update my review when I actually use the fence!

5+++ stars for Aaron, and his associates David and Tim, for working courteously and professionally to solve a multi-layered problem. They are all knowledgeable and committed to resolution. When the collar is working, it is AMAZING...like magic! The warranty is solid. That being said, issues in packing/shipping leave me in a situation where I don't yet have what I need to have a functioning collar. The dog with wanderlust is living her best life as an escape artist.

Bitter sweet. I purchase two collars about 6 weeks ago (the week before the dropped in price by $100 each so I lost out on $200). There is really a lot to like with the collar. But from time to time, although the signal strength is "excellent" the collar will trigger a false positive and send a behavior correcting shock although my dogs are indoors or a safe distance from any "fences". Luckily my dogs were previously collar trained long so I recognized their behavior and quickly removed the collar. So I take it off and try to troubleshoot, however you won't be able to get any type of support unless its is during business hours. They have an AI chat that will tell you to try to call during business hours if you have any problems. I have a job so calling during business hours to troubleshoot my dogs collar isn't very convenient. But that is all they offer. No email that I can submit and get a response when I get off work. I must be done during work. Yes, I am a bit frustrated with the lack of support. Otherwise, I think the collar is pretty good. One collar (I have two large dogs) works very good so far. I have a very strong signal, according to the app, so not sure why one collar is on the fritz. All in all I like the collar and glad I purchases it but my satisfaction started at 100% is now down to about 78%. Reason for being lowered are, 1. Inconvenient Customer Support, 2. Collar shocks with strong signal while being well inside the safe zone. 3. Dropping the price less than a week after I purchased two (I know its not their fault but it still affects my satisfaction). If there isn't a fix for my two month old collar this satisfaction score will drop dramatically.
