GumroadReviews of gumroad.com

After seeing all the reviews, I change my decision to sell digital product on it as it has misleading and I appropriate content. Amazon is much better than this hyped website. I'd rather prefer other platforms that are not as bad as Gumroad.

I had watched a talk about benefits for senior citizens and how to go about receiving them. The gentleman mentioned that he was offering a download of this for future reference. I ordered it for $21. When I didn't see that my order had been placed, I ordered it again. Same result. So naturally I hoped it hadn't gone through. Oh no! On my bank account was two entries for $21. But never did I receive any download information, I'm on a fixed income and cannot afford to throw any amount of money away. This is very upsetting. It seems selling through the internet is 9 times out of 10 is a total scam! If possible, I wouldn't even give one star. Judgement day is coming.

Truly awful website, one of the most frustrating experiencxes as a user I can think of. Go to your library and try and look at your products ... oh wait you can't, you can only click it to find the download. THATS NOT HELPFUL!

They are holding $220 payout and banned my account. No reply from customer service since 1 week. Had completely forgotten about this and I logged last week to see the $220 payout hadn't been processed yet and they banned me. No email about the ban either. STAY AWAY! THEY ARE SCAMMERS!

I am giving Gumroad 1 star because while the platform is technically easy to use, its infrastructure has a massive flaw that leaves honest buyers completely unprotected from rogue or volatile creators. I recently had a minor technical misunderstanding with a seller on their community Discord regarding an incomplete file. In response, the seller completely overreacted, banned me, and unilaterally forced a refund to revoke my access to the product. Shockingly, the seller then decided to retaliate further by manually revoking and refunding two entirely separate, historical purchases I had made months prior that were completely unrelated to the dispute. When I contacted Gumroad support, they were polite but ultimately useless. Gumroad cannot or will not override this, even when a seller is clearly weaponizing the feature to penalize a customer over a forum disagreement.

They say 10% + 0.5cts for transaction fees, it s actually on top of the Stripe fees. So more like 12.5% + 0.75cts. Which is much higher than their competitors. THe refund feature is incredibly buggy. Overall their MoR features are not well made / professional. It s close to a fraud.

Absolute scam – Held my funds, won't release payouts or refund customers! Review: Do not trust Gumroad. They are holding my balance and completely refusing to release my payouts. To make matters worse, they haven’t refunded the money back to my customers either—meaning they are just sitting on funds that do not belong to them. Their customer support is nonexistent. I’ve reached out multiple times to resolve this, and all I get is radio silence or automated responses that solve nothing. It is incredibly unprofessional and unethical to freeze a creator's hard-earned money while simultaneously blocking buyers from getting refunds. Save yourself the massive headache and financial loss. Use a different platform that actually respects creators and consumers. Gumroad is operating like a scam. Avoid at all costs!

I see all these 1 star reviews talking about Gumroad scammed them, it is not true if they don’t send your payout you definitely scam or do something that isn’t right with their terms. I’ve been working with them for 2 weeks now already got my first payout support answers my emails faster then a bullet recommend them!
