I think they allow way too much adult content to be present, it's supposed to be a place for artists not for such content but I am happy to see them slightly improve and banish these accounts one by one. Hence 3 stars instead of 2 or 1.

My experience with Gumroad has been mixed. At first, my account was placed “under review” despite generating legitimate sales, and I had no clear explanation or timeline for resolution. This created uncertainty and delayed access to my earnings. Eventually, Gumroad did process the payout, but the lack of transparency and slow communication made the experience stressful and far from ideal. The platform works, but creators should be aware of the high fees and the possibility of unexpected reviews that can temporarily block payouts.

The setup, protection, customer support, and putting your products in Gumroad is great. 5 star. But the fees are incredibly high, I sold an ebook for £2.50, and £1.13 (with add ons) were taken off my amount I would earn, leaving me with £1.48. I find this shocking as I put hard work into it. The payouts are dodgy too, as I had a sale put into my bank account on July 16th, and the other 5 sales are waiting since July 5th. I didn’t have $10 in my account balance (gumroad) for the first week, which I understand why I didn’t get my money as I was just learning how to use Gumroad then, but I reached well over $10 for the second week and they didn’t transfer my money into my bank on the next Friday (payout day - 18th July). It is Saturday, 19th July today, and I have to wait until the 25th July to get my money. If you don’t want a hassle and want to have your money transferred on the set date when you have your requirements set, don’t go for Gumroad. But other than the fees, and waiting time, it’s great. That’s why I gave it 3 stars.

--Final Review Wahoo so finally the money has hit my bank account. As mentioned was hoping for this money to spend on Christmas presents as majority of this money should have been paid before Christmas. It's just nice to finally have the money go into my bank account. --Second Review Had to send a few emails to support, then chase this on twitter, was starting to proper panic after reading all the negative reviews for getting paid. However as also mentioned in the replies some of these did seem fraudulent, I was happy that this was not the case with me. So after I sent the emails and chased on twitter, I got a very helpful reply the next day explaining this was an issue with stripe that pays out, this now appears to have been transferred to my bank or is now showing that on the gumroad site, just now waiting for this to hit my bank account, feeling a lot happier than I was before. --First Review Tried to earn some extra money for my 4 daughters for Christmas. I got recommended this site gumroad to sell my digital course on. I am still waiting for $225 to be paid to me, they have had my money for over one month now, yet as I read it I should of been paid after one week for previous weeks sales. No money has made it to my bank account, contacted them and received a useless reply to links I have already visited. You have my bank details, but yet no payments made?

Payout was delayed promptly tried to fix situation. Payout was unreasonably long offered a lower interest rate and apology.

----- UPDATE ----- So after about four weeks of not being paid, gumroad finally managed to verify my identity despite me sending a multitude of documents over the course of these weeks. Apparently it was due to a third party called Stripe that was rejecting my documents? I think I sent about 8-10 documents (bills, license, passport, healthcare card, bank statements) before they finally verified me. Overall it was a stressful and lengthy experience, but I'm glad I finally got paid and should be good to continue getting paid in future now this is all sorted out. ----- END OF UPDATE ---- Haven't been paid since I set the account up. Everything is approved. I have not been told my bank details aren't working if that was the case, they have not told me anything, just continued not to pay me with no explanation. When I contacted support they gave me a general answer as though they haven't even looked into my case, "Accounts will be in review for weeks" okay but my account has been OUT of review for two weeks now and I still haven't been paid. If I manage to finally get paid, I will update this review. But currently, as my experience stands, it is 1 star.
