God sent me the perfect person through…
God sent me the perfect person through Grow Therapy! We didn't waste any time and jumped right in. I feel safe talking with her, and it is helping already.

Grow is a mental health platform built to enable progress — connecting people with thousands of qualified therapists vetted across specialties, identities, and lived experiences, covered by insurance. We didn't begin with a theory about the market. We began with someone trying to help someone they loved, with the realization that when someone you care about needs mental health support, the system can feel cold, confusing, expensive, and built to wear people down. So we built something better to help people find care they can afford, stay with, and actually feel supported by — care that doesn't just work, but makes progress possible. We are not only for crisis. We are for all the moments when someone decides they want more: more support, more clarity, more tools. Because our goal isn't just to help people feel better — it's to help people achieve their goals in life. That starts with finding the right therapist, which is why we make it easy to search by specialty, language, cultural background, and identity, with care covered by insurance, appointments available in as little as 2 days, and most clients paying around $21 per session. Many pay $0, and self-pay and sliding scale options are also available. We are committed to a mental health experience that's easier to begin, more affordable to maintain, and grounded in trust — rethinking not just how people access care, but how care feels, because life doesn't pause between sessions, and with Grow, support doesn't either. So far, 15 million sessions have started on Grow, each one a step forward for someone, somewhere, building the life they've always wanted. With 220M lives covered, appointments offered virtually or in-person, including evenings and weekends, and clear cost estimates with no subscriptions to worry about, it's no surprise that 80%+ of Grow clients report feeling better after starting therapy. The struggle to find a therapist was unreal. So little information out there. Nothing was clear. Then I found Grow Therapy and they gave clear options, billing, and communication.

Here’s a cleaner, stronger version that keeps your frustration and experience clear while sounding credible and professional: I can absolutely see how Grow Therapy could be helpful for people who need access to mental health services. The convenience of being able to connect one-on-one with a therapist through an online platform is a great concept. Unfortunately, my experience with the business side of the platform has been extremely disappointing. I originally signed up because I simply wanted couples therapy. I found a provider who has been excellent, and for the first time, I actually found someone I would like to continue working with. Unfortunately, I will not continue seeing that provider through Grow Therapy because of how the billing and communication were handled. When I signed up, I was required to add a payment method before moving forward. I was hesitant to do that, but I trusted that a company dealing with mental health services would clearly communicate my insurance coverage and expected costs before charging my card. That did not happen. Grow Therapy ran my insurance information, allowed me to schedule an appointment, and allowed me to complete what I understood to be an initial consultation. At no point before that appointment was I clearly informed that my insurance would not cover the session or that I would be responsible for a $150 charge. Looking back, there were several red flags: 1. My insurance coverage was never clearly confirmed before the appointment. 2. I was never clearly told what my out-of-pocket cost would be before receiving the service. 3. My card was charged $150, and afterward my next appointment was canceled because I was told I needed to meet my insurance deductible. 4. It then took days to reach someone at Grow Therapy who could actually address my concerns. For a company operating in the mental health space, communication like this matters tremendously. People seeking therapy may already be experiencing stress, anxiety, relationship problems, grief, depression, or other difficult circumstances. They should not have to navigate confusing billing practices or discover unexpected costs only after money has been taken from their account. Mental health platforms should make pricing, insurance coverage, deductibles, and potential out-of-pocket expenses as clear as possible before a patient attends an appointment and before their payment method is charged. Ironically, I came to Grow Therapy because I was trying to work on personal growth and my relationship. Instead, dealing with the platform created additional stress and frustration. The therapist I found was excellent. My complaint is not about the provider. It is about the platform, its billing process, its lack of upfront communication, and how difficult it was to reach someone when there was a problem. If you are considering Grow Therapy, I strongly recommend asking questions before scheduling your first appointment. Confirm your insurance coverage yourself, ask exactly what your session will cost, find out whether you have a deductible, and get the information in writing if possible. When people are reaching out for mental health support, clarity, transparency, accessibility, and accountability should not be optional.

CONSTANT GLITCHES AND WEBSITE "ERRORS", SAYING TO, "CONTACT SUPPORT." YEAH, BECAUSE *THAT'S* ANY HELP, TALKING TO AN AUTOBOT WHO DOESNT COMPREHEND CONTEXT OR ACTUAL ENGLISH. MULTIPLE APPOINTMENTS OVER THE LAST 6 MONTHS HAVE BEEN INTERRUPTED, DELAYED, AND EVEN CANCELED BECAUSE THIS WEBSITE REFUSES TO WORK RIGHT FOR MORE THAN 5 MINUTES AT A TIME, IF IT WORKS AT ALL. BILLING SAVES UP COPAYS AND HITS CLIENTS FOR MULTIPLE APPTS ALL AT ONCE. I HAVE MEDI-CAL NOW, BUT FOR MORE THAN 5 MONTHS, I WAS BILLED 2 OR 3+ AT A TIME. NOT ACCEPTABLE! ALL THE GLITCHES AND SUCH, INCLUDING BILLING ISSUES, ARE A HUGE REASON TO AVOID THIS APP ALTOGETHER.

Grow Therapy was **SUPER easy** to set up and use to find a therapist. I’m definitely not a “techy” person, but the site was so simple to navigate. I really loved that each therapist had something personal to share about themselves, whether it was a simple quote, thought, or little glimpse into who they are. It made choosing someone feel a lot more personal. I will say, though, it was **HARD to choose just ONE!** But I finally did! I had my first session, and holy smokes… I can already see the **LIGHT at the end of the tunnel!** I’m so grateful I took that first step and am really looking forward to where this journey takes me. **Thank you so much!**

I love the dashboard, and the worksheets that are available! Its just like the ones in group therapy. My therapist seems very authentic, and I felt empowered to do something I have been wavering on. I would love to see some more features added to the platform, like quizzes. GAD7, BADS, YBOCS, and others lime it would really help increase quality of care, and give them an edge on the online competition. I think this company is going good places.

I was led to Grow Therapy through VA Community Care, and I’m so glad they were an option. The website is easy to navigate—you answer a few questions about what you’re looking for, and a list of providers is displayed. You can review their bios and reviews before choosing the right fit and scheduling an appointment. Scheduling was a breeze, and the patient portal makes communicating with your provider convenient and helpful. I was blessed to find NP Able Bueno Gonzalez, who has been fantastic. I highly recommend him and Grow Therapy to anyone looking for a mental health provider.
