Disappointed
I’ve bought multiple sets of invisi-edge clips ins and tape ins from Goo Goo, most of the time going through Amazon because it’s easier. However, they just released their butterfly weft, and after having a horrible reaction to my last set of tape ins and losing a good bit of hair (I have sensitive skin, so this was not something I blamed on them) I thought this would be perfect to let my hair take a breather but also allow me to still feel decent about myself. They didn’t have very many colors available, assuming it was because it was just released, but I typically get their chocolate brown shade anyways, which they did have. Upon it being delivered, I opened it and compared it to my hair and realized it was incredibly dark, even in different lighting. I also compared it to my previous extensions in that shade and realized it was still just too dark for me to try and blend. I sent them an email and asked for a return, because there was no color close enough to exchange it with. The return process is somewhat inconvenient in itself, but you also have to pay for your own shipping. Realistically, it’s a minor inconvenience but I’m now without any extensions on top of the hair loss I accrued, so having to pay for shipping when the color wasn’t the same as it normally was feels like a blow. The quality also varies between what kind of extensions you’re getting, the hair on the tape ins was amazing but the clip ins weren’t great, and they didn’t hold up at all. Same hair care, same products. I use sulfate free, oil the ends, the typical care. Can’t really give an honest review on the butterfly weft because I’ll be sucking it up and returning it, but just be mindful that the color isn’t the most consistent. All in all, I was a huge fan. Constantly recommended this to people, especially for the affordability but I think between the varying quality and the change up of colors, I’ll be switching to another brand.
Response from GOO GOO HairOct 30, 2025
Dear katie, First, we want to sincerely thank you for your long-term support of Goo Goo—you’ve not only purchased invisi-edge clip-ins and tape-ins multiple times, but also actively recommended us to others. We truly value this trust, and we’re deeply sorry for the disappointing experience you had this time. Regarding the color discrepancy of the butterfly wefts: You mentioned that the chocolate brown shade was much darker than usual and hard to blend, which is indeed a flaw in our quality control. While we’re already addressing the limited color options for new products, we’re extremely sorry that the inconsistent color left you unable to use the wefts after receiving them. For color control, we will increase batch inspections for popular shades like "chocolate brown" to ensure the color of each batch matches historical versions, avoiding discrepancies. We will also speed up the expansion of new product colors to provide more options for customers. We want to clarify that Goo Goo Hair uses 100% pure human hair. We pride ourselves on providing high-quality hairpieces, all sourced ethically and made from genuine human hair. Our hairpieces undergo rigorous processing to ensure they meet the highest standards. For quality management, targeting the durability issue of clip-ins, reinforce the connection points of the clips to ensure all extension categories meet the quality standard of tape-ins. If you haven’t sent the return yet, please contact our official customer service at [email protected] with your order number and situation. We will cover all return shipping costs for you and additionally send a hair care serum—this is both to make up for the inconvenience this time and to help you nourish your damaged hair. If you’re willing to give us another chance in the future, we will definitely respond with more consistent quality and more thoughtful service.
