We’d like clarify that while this fee is entirely optional, and buyers can always choose to pay on Good Dog with 0 fees, it provides many valuable benefits that new puppy owners find helpful: -Payment protection under our Good Dog Guarantee -Access to veterinary and behavioral experts for lifelong support -Professional training resources and exclusive partner discounts -This fee also helps us maintain our high standards and continue improving our platform to help more families like yours find their perfect match. For payments made on Good Dog through credit or debit cards, there’s an additional 3-3.5% processing fee, which is directed to our payment processor, and not to Good Dog. However, buyers can always choose to opt out of this card processing fee by paying with an ACH bank transfer. We hope this information is helpful. Every breeder in our community must pass our screening process and meet or exceed our community standards, including our Breeder Code of Ethics and our minimum health testing requirements before joining Good Dog. After breeders join Good Dog, we have routine check-ins to ensure continued compliance with these standards: https://www.gooddog.com/standards-and-screening We've connected with you previously to discuss how your breeding program aligns with our platform standards. While we determined it wasn't the right fit at this time, we wish you and your dogs all the best. About Good Dog fees: -Breeders only pay the 6.5% service fee when we successfully connect them with a Good Dog buyer they choose to work with -Buyers can always choose to pay with zero fees by choosing to complete their payment via an ACH bank transfer. If a buyer prefers to use a credit or debit card, a processing fee goes directly to our payment processor, not to Good Dog. -Our Protection & Support fee is optional and provides buyers with payment protection, training resources, and expert support. Buyers can always choose to opt out of these benefits. About sales tax: We're legally required to collect sales tax in accordance with state regulations—this isn't a Good Dog fee. When breeders and buyers connect on Good Dog, they agree to make their payments through our platform, and all buyers are made aware of this before they submit an application to a breeder. This On-Platform Payment Policy is how we keep our community safe. We understand you completed payments to this breeder outside of the Good Dog platform. As our team shared with you on October 1st, we're unfortunately unable to assist with transactions that occur outside of our platform, as we have no involvement in, visibility into, or control over private transactions.
