they keep placing holds on my paycheck deposits, for up to 11 days - claiming there's a fraud alert been with the same employer 28 years, never had a check bounce takes multiple emails & calls to get them to release, only for them to do it again 2 weeks later had enough of this crap, going to another bank

Terrible customer service. Always need more than 1 person to get to correct person. If you have a problem with bill pay, it’s impossible to get resolved. I’m closing account.

Zero customer service. Closed my account in Apr 2026. Refusing to send me my remaining balance.

I was a victim of fraud and they did not conduct the appropriate steps for clawing back the funds. They used a bank loophole to not assist me. Also, no 24/7 fraud support like they claim. They changed their online platform several times, they lost my username in their system. My checking account number shows on my son’s account as an error even after trying to fix it.

The option to make a principle only payment is not available online. I would have to go into a branch or call a service agent to have them do the transfer. I didnt ask to be a member it happened that my RV loan went through them. I transferred money into the ckg account ,that i had to open, to pay the bill and the transfer from my real and actual bank took very long to post in G1. in my two experiences with this bank, i am not a satisfied customer. I would rather take out another loan to pay this one off just to get away from this bank. Same bank signed me up for mortgage insurance on a heloc without my knowledge and charged me for a year before I caught on. When I called to cancel it they said that I had responded yes to agent conversation and signed some document which they could not find. In this imaginary conversation I agreed to pay an additional 80 bucks a month for insurance on my heloc, which I never fully used and which payment never exceeded 200 bucks a month. This is not the bank you want to use. Find another credit union

Worst credit union to work with. I applied for a vehicle loan to pull out a ski. I was told I was approved for the full amount, went through the hassle of getting paperwork filled out by the dealership to send to the credit union as they said all they needed was a signed purchase agreement from dealership to approve funds. Just for them to tell me at the end that I was not approved after they initially told me I was approved. If you want to waste your time going back and forth being told lies then golden 1 is the credit union to work with.

This bank used to be good, but they have fallen. I had $307 dollars taken out of my bank account for a smoke shop. I have never walked into a smoke shop before. After they reviewed it, they said that the card I have in my hand was present at the smoke shop and so I owe the money. I have been with them for over 8 years with a balance over $10,000 at all times. If your card is ever stolen, don't expect to get your money back.

I can't understand how they have so many bad reviews. I've been a member since 2004 and haven't had one issue. They have always taken care of me if there's a mishap and gave me high limits on cards. They recently provided me a loan for an older used vehicle and the interest rate was 15 points lower than the next company. 8% on an old car isn't bad at all. I will use them forever as they take care of their people and customer service has always been amazing.
