Let me tell you about my horrible ordeal with ProctorU. I live in Canada and currently there are wildfires in my area so I might have some connectivity issues. I used three different computers, data everything I could to use the site. I finally got a strong enough connection six hours later. I called multiple people, the stupid chat box had me speaking to numerous people (ONE GUY EVEN LOOKED THROUGH MY EMAILS WITHOUT MY CONSENT). In that time dozens of people had access to my computer. How invasive is that? So I get through all the checks, I'm all good to go. At this point I am using a computer directly connected to a modem. I'm in the middle of my exam and I keep getting interrupted by web cam issues now. I literally did a security check, I obviously don't have any materials near me or around me. The people keep interrupting me, I can't write my exam because they need to fix the issue. And then one guy said he had enough and said he's going to log me off. He even deleted my answer to a question. Mind you I am HALF way through my exam after 8 hours now of this ordeal he cancels my exam. I am absolutely gutted. I urge anyone reading this to never use this site. It is horrible the customer service is no help. I had major anxiety, my privacy was violated and I couldn't even finish my exam that I paid $44 dollars to write. ProctorU is an unethical, disgusting company that should not be supported.

If I could assign a NEGATIVE Rating I would and I don't undertsand why any reputable post secondary institution would use this program. I am a graduate student currently working in East Asia and I booked my final exam for my Masters Course, did all of the system pre-checks and all were good but when I tried to start my exam if got to a point where it seemed to stall and the online chat help was absolutely useless. I couldn;t call the 1-866 help line because of the time difference and geographic location I am in! I STRONGLY RECOMMEND AVOIDING THIS PROGRAM IF AT ALL POSSIBLE!!!!!

My hope in writing this review is that people who are considering any program that uses proctoru will contact said program and say they won't enroll unless there are other options. I took two classes in a Masters of Data Science program, each of which had a proctoru final exam. Both exams were awful. The claims proctoru makes about which platforms it supports are false. I have an up-to-date computer with the latest version of a browser those liars say should work, but it was unstable from outset. Also, you have to give up total control and access of your computer to an anonymous stranger in a foreign country. The intro video proctoru has on YouTube is very deceptive. They don't cover many of the required steps to have things ready for the test... maybe because if people saw how invasive their crummy platform is, they would balk at being subjected to it. They blame the user's connection and computer for any and all problems, but I have no trouble using my laptop and connection to have full two way video and audio streaming with multiple browsers and apps running. Yet according to proctoru, simply trying to take a test is more than my connection can handle. The "support" people during the exams are incompetent. Their solution is usually to keep downloading the browser plugin and restart everything. Try going through this every 5 minutes in an exam, including having to rescan your exam area, and see what it does for your concentration. One proctoru tech tried to solve their problems by downloading the chrome browser onto my laptop. She didn't ask my permission or anything. I stopped her, so she reinstalled the plugin and I had another 5 minutes of exam time. I asked to have the clock reset some for all the time they wasted. They would not answer. Like many others, proctoru did not reset all the system changes they made when I was done with the exam. Avoid any program that uses proctoru.

My main complaint is that I am still locked out of safari months after i took my test. Also the proctors suck and there ruled make no sense. I just want to use my safari again and they dont know how to fix it

They are the absolute worst. I have twice now had to wait over an hour for a proctor and then when I tried to reschedule they charged me again. The customer service sucks. Everything about ProctorU sucks. Get your act together. Many schools are requiring that we use Proctor U so I need it to work.

Terrible Customer Service with bad management. Underwhelming internet connection services and give you the run-around. I waited nearly 2 hours to connect with a proctor and after that time they finally said I couldn't take my exam because of connection issues on my end which are false because I am 5 feet from my motum.

I took the GRE yesterday, and I was disappointed with the ProctorU service. I was not told I needed to download the LogMeIn application prior to my test session, as a result of which I had to spend time at the beginning of my session downloading and installing the application. Furthermore, I was not told I would need to enable certain settings for my proctor (like screen sharing and mouse control), which also took a lot of time to figure out. Overall, it was 30 minutes into my 1pm appointment before I could actually begin the test. Moreover, the proctor changed several settings on my computer, which I understand was to prevent cheating. However, I was NOT told which settings these were, AND they were not changed back to their original setting after I completed the test. Now, the day after the test, I have to figure out which settings were changed and fix them myself. My first proctor was polite enough, but I did not get to actually speak to her until shortly before the test began. My second proctor did not speak to me at all, and only communicated with me through the chat box, which was time consuming, and often resulted in unclear instructions. All in all, I found ProctorU's interface and customer service leaving a lot to be desired. I would rather take the GRE in person at a testing center than have to use this poorly designed company again. I strongly encourage ETS and the GRE to partner with a more capable and professional service in the future.

Endless technological issues; disconnections, software issues. Then i was accused of cheating on my 200$ GRE exam and my results were nullified without an explanation. Words cannot describe my disappointment and lack of confidence in this service.
