I needed my BP meds and diabetic meds renewed, and without insurance right now it was an amazing value, to see a knowledgeable person, and be able to get my labs done at a great price and timely manner. It’s been a great experience thus far!!!

I was skeptical because their Internet pitch seemed too good to be true. I put in all my information, including my insurance information, and the website told me the cost of a telehealth visit. I think it said $20. I haven’t traced all of the billing activity to see if that’s how it turned out. In any case, I paid $20, and I’m on Medicare, so I don’t think they can bill me for any more. I say this because doctors are suppose to have you sign something if they don’t agree to accept Medicare assignment, and I didn’t sign anything like that. Their website was clear that they would not prescribe pain pills, and gave me the choice to continue scheduling the call. For the $20, I got a relatively late-evening telehealth call with a very real, very knowledgeable doctor, who showed a genuine interest in helping me find the source of my nagging hip pain. The doctor talked through the extensive history of the pain, including other doctors I had consulted about it, and all the treatments that had been tried. He ordered X-Ray and Physical Therapy, followed by an MRI and an Orthopedic Surgeon referral. And we have a follow-up appointment scheduled for a month from now. Suffice it to say, I was very pleased with General Medicine and their support staff.
