I recommend this company to most anyone I meet, simply because I find it has amazing prices on good stuff. Not just off-brand cheap stuff, but name brand high end equipment. It is "used", but from personal experience, this means a little dirt on the bottom of my shoes, or a some discoloration on my sleeping pad. If you can handle that, then you will be very happy with the money you spend on this site. Keep in mind, seeing as it's used gear, their inventory is very fluid, so if you are looking for specific gear, it may take some patience.

I love the fact that I can buy and continue to use equipment that is important to me. The only negative is that it seems like it takes awhile to receive items.I just plan a little extra time allowance.

Lots to look at in every price range, we ALWAYS find what we want, maybe not today, and maybe not tomorrow, but it WILL be there for a price we don't mind paying!

I've never sold anything on GearTrade, but buying has always been a good experience. Basically, it's like this. If there's something specific that I want, I can search for it to see if GearTrade might happen to have it. If they do, there's a review and photos of the item's condition...and a price. Many times, the item is literally in brand new condition, and the price may be only half of retail. And if it's coming from Backcountry, shipping is free. The only catch (and I haven't had to deal with this) is that returns can be difficult unless the condition of the item is misrepresented on the website. So read carefully and be sure before you buy; and have realistic expectations if the item's condition is less than new. Service is great and inventory is incredibly broad.

I have purchased many items from multiple different sellers and have had great experiences every time. Items have always shipped quickly and arrive in the condition represented. No reservations about shopping here regularly.
