14-days return window is too short…
14-days return window is too short for the nature of this shop. I do not plan to order from Geartrade in the future.

I wish I'd read the reviews before attempting to sell through Geartrade. While the idea seems convenient, I not only had to wait weeks for the bag, but months for my consignment items to be processed. They still haven't been processed and it's well beyond the 3-5 week processing time they claim. For all I know my stuff is gone. Some of the items were brand new, with tags. They're at least now out of season. I won't go this route again. Two stars because they seem friendly and I appreciate the recycling/reuse aspect.

This company is a bad, they say the condition is good but they have snags, holes, and stains not included in the listing. You pay an additional fee for free returns but then it gets denied cuz of final sale. Going to try and do a chargeback. Don’t use this company.

I figured I'd post this for anyone searching the internet trying to decide whether to send their gear to GearTrade. First, GearTrade is legitimate. They did what they said they would do. I shipped them my gear, they eventually received it, photographed it, priced it, listed it, sold it, and paid me. But holy crap, I would not do it again. The entire process took forever. There was a long wait between sending everything in, having it received and processed, photographed, priced, and actually listed for sale. I was okay with that because I understood the deal. I was giving up some money in exchange for convenience. No taking pictures, making listings, dealing with Marketplace people, packing individual orders, etc. What I wasn't prepared for were the actual payouts. Some examples of what I received: Skis: $147 payout Quality ski gloves: $1.47 payout Black Crows ski poles: $2.72 payout Boot bag: $3.88 payout Yes, one dollar and forty-seven cents for the gloves and two dollars and seventy-two cents for the Black Crows poles. I understand perfectly well that used gear isn't worth anything close to MSRP. I also understand that GearTrade has overhead, needs to make a profit, and that I'm paying a significant premium for the convenience of consignment. But if someone had told me beforehand that I could potentially receive payouts of $1 to $4 for perfectly good, quality ski gear, I would have just kept it, given it to someone, or spent an afternoon putting everything on Facebook Marketplace/SidelineSwap. This stuff was practically new; used for 2-3 sessions over one season. That's really why I'm posting this. I'm not saying GearTrade scammed me. They provided the service they advertised. I just think the value proposition for the seller is terrible based on my experience. If you've got decent gear that still has meaningful resale value, especially skis, poles, or higher-end equipment, I'd strongly recommend trying to sell it yourself first. I learned that lesson the expensive way. TL;DR: GearTrade is legit and convenient, but my actual payouts included $147 for skis, $2.72 for Black Crows poles, $1.47 for gloves, and $3.88 for a boot bag. If I could do it over, I'd sell locally or through a peer-to-peer ski marketplace instead.

I purchased a pair of running shoes @geartrade and when they arrived they weren’t the best quality. Requested a return (same day I received) and was hit with a return fee, had to pay for the return shipping and now sit waiting for the refund to be returned. I keep getting an email from different people stating they are a small company and at ‘this time of year’ it’s difficult for them to be efficient in posting refunds. I WISH I’d read the reviews here BEFORE hitting ‘buy’. It’s been a headache he from the start and I would never recommend geartrade to anyone.

I sent in a ski helmet that only saw 5 days of light use (barely a scratch on it). They rejected the helmet citing dents, which they couldn't provide any evidence of when I asked for some proof. They said the helmet was unsafe for use, and so they donated it (which is fishy... why would you donate an item that you deemed unsafe for use?). When I asked for any sort of paper trail of what happened to my helmet, they couldn't provide any.

I purchased a number of items from Geartrade, and overall the experience and value received was positive (+200$ in items). One item I saw and purchased was a pair of shorts. They were in my size and listed in good condition. I threw them in my cart. When I wore them for the first time, I doubt I washed them first. To be honest, I found a dime-sized burn hole on the back/side of the shorts. They refused to refund. I missed the return window due to traveling. So, BEWARE GEARTRADE SELLS SOME ABSOLUTE JUNK, then refuses to take responsibility for it. In their defense, the hole was pictured and described in the product description, so some blame falls to me, but this piece of clothing shouldn't have been sold, or only sold for $3 not $15.
