Do NOT deal with this company.
I placed an order and less than five minutes later, ordered the same for my neighbour.
They would not put the two orders together, so two shipping charges.
Within five minutes of that, after rechecking the picture we realized it was the incorrect canopy. (our bad)...
I called to cancel the order and they refused to cancel it.
So ten minutes between the initial order and the cancellation, and they they insisted on shipping it anyway, knowing I would have to just ship it right back, from Canada no less. When all was said and done, countless calls and shipping issues later, I ended up out of pocket to the tune of 239.00 Cdn, (shipping both ways and customs chgs) and nothing to show for it.
Absolutely unbelievable.

Garden Winds = Bad Company, Inferior Product
I purchased a replacement canopy for my Garden Winds pergola from Garden Winds on line, researching to make sure it was the same canopy, emailed customer service to ensure it was a real replacement canopy; I was assured it was The website indicated that it was double riplock technology (thick layer) with ultra stitch and UPF 50+. When I received the canopy, it was not all together like the original canopy (you just put the rings through the poles). We had to unscrew each ring from the original canopy, take out each individual pole from the original canopy, and insert the poles, screwing them back on the horizontal poles. The material did not appear thick and durable like the original canopy and is not as wide, which made getting the poles in difficult. We managed to get the canopy up and that night we had a light rain. I then discovered that rain had come through the stitching (not ultra stitched!) and was also seeping through the material (not thick enough to withstand a light rain!). I contacted customer service and explained everything, asking them for a 50% refund of the purchase price due to their inaccurate description of the canopy and to allow me to find another canopy to overlay the Garden Winds canopy to stop rain from coming in. I felt this was a fair request since the canopy definitely is not like the original, but a cheap version. They said they would give me $17, which was an insult to me. I told them I would return it, and they said they would inspect it upon return and I would not be refunded due to it having been put up. When I tried to reason with them, they were rude and dismissive. The pergola itself was expensive for me, and I just wanted to replace the canopy that had been damaged in the weather over the last few years. The replacement will probably not last a year.

Cheap Garbage. Rips Soon After Purchase.
Cheap Garbage. Rips Soon After Purchase.
I bought a replacement canopy. I needed help installing it, so it sat in the box 2-3 months after I bought it until I could get a second pair of hands and the requisite time for this afternoon/weekend project.
Within 9 months it has multiple rips in places NOWHERE NEAR areas of friction.
The company will do nothing.
I wish TrustPilot would take photos because potential customers should see how the product actually holds up. It rips from almost no use and NO storms. It just rips from being.

Gazebo Canopy Did Not fit - No replacement nor refund
Gazebo Canopy Did Not fit - No return or replacement given. My gazebo was the exact one shown on product page.
March 2025: Ordered 2 canopies
May 2025: Order still not received. Company contacted.
July 2025: Finally received order.
Waited to install as the summer was over and was almost fall/winter to take down.
May 2026: Tried to install canopy. Did not fit; was short about 2 inches to secure 4th corner. Contacted customer service for tips. Tried to install again. Contacted customer service and was told that there was nothing they could do as it was past the 30-day return window!
I was told by customer service rep that I should have installed the canopy to make sure it fit before the end of July 2025. It was the end of the summer so why install when it was time to take it down? And… The gazebo frame in the product description on the Gardenwinds.com website was my frame! Why would I think the canopy wouldn’t fit?
I understand the 30 day return policy, however, had it not been for the company’s delay in shipping the product in a timely fashion (5 month delay), I would have installed the canopies (I ordered 2) and found that it didn’t fit within the 30 days.
This review is just a warning! Common sense, seasons, weather, and company shipping delays have no bearing on Gardenwinds.com return policy!
So…. What to do with 2 gazebo canopies that don’t fit????

I purchased a replacement gazebo cover…
I purchased a replacement gazebo cover in June 2025 and installed it on July 4, 2025. On October 31, 2025, we went to our Vermont home and saw the cover ripped to shreds, including along the seams. It was windy, but not that windy. I wish I checked the reviews for this company before purchasing this product. It would have saved me money. Do not purchase anything from Garden Winds.

Bad materials
The material that Garden Winds uses is poor. We get two seasons(two months+) from each one. We always carefully take it down and store it. We've also tried fabric protector/waterproof spray with no improvement. Finding another option has been nearly impossible.

customer service
I purchased a canopy replacement in December and live in New York, I obviously did not install it till the spring,it has ripped in about 4 places and is not secure on the frame, when I send them photos and contacted them I was told since it is over 6 months old they will give me 50% off a new one,,it should be replaced completly since it was only actually less then 3 months, I will never use this company again..you should purchase elsewhere.
