I found the results informative and genuinely useful, and I’ve already made adjustments to my diet and lifestyle based on certain findings. While my doctor was only moderately impressed, we did take action by ordering new bloodwork through her office to confirm and compare results. Overall, this service works well as a baseline snapshot of your health. Cons: First, test results cannot be transferred directly from the app or website to a healthcare provider’s system. The only option is to export the data as a PDF, which is cumbersome and impractical. My doctor simply does not have the time to comb through pages of unlinked data that can’t be easily compared to her own records—and frankly, I agree. Second, you cannot cancel auto-renewal directly through the app or website. When I tried, I was routed to a chatbot called “Function Concierge.” I clearly stated that I wanted to keep my current subscription but cancel auto-renewal. The response only explained how to cancel entirely. Since I am halfway through my year, canceling outright would mean losing the follow-up testing included in the original price. I tried rephrasing the request multiple ways and even texted the provided number, but received the same unhelpful response each time. As a result, I now have to mark my calendar to remember to cancel at the exact end of the subscription period. This feels like a deliberately frustrating and unnecessary process. While I had planned to turn off auto-renewal—not rule out renewing in the future—the difficulty alone has convinced me otherwise. I won’t be spending hundreds of dollars again just to get the runaround. Buyer beware.

When we asked how this was calculated, Function confirmed: • The score is automatic and not reviewable • No member-level breakdown is available • No clinician or data scientist can explain individual results • The only explanation is “it’s based on an NIH study” To be clear: the science exists. The transparency doesn’t. If a health metric: • Can swing by decades • Can’t be reconciled with your labs • Can’t be explained when it looks wrong …it’s not actionable for consumers. My takeaway (opinion): treat “Biological Age” as a wellness/engagement score, not a precise measure of your health. Focus on real biomarkers. Numbers you can’t audit aren’t insight — they’re noise. (Sharing my experience so others can decide for themselves.)

Beware of Function Health. I was happy with the original testing and received detailed results. Then I spent $899 on the cancer testing and all you receive is "No cancer signal was found at this time". I got more detail from my cholesterol test:( They also automatically renew your membership each year, which I did not know about. I contacted them multiple times and finally was told I would receive a refund for the cancer test once I submitted the information they needed for the refund. They then said that "I misunderstood" and would not be getting a refund. Parts of Function Health I feel are good and other tests are I feel, a scam. Buyer Beware!
