My story is long, but in short I will focus on one item…I have spent many ways to lower my LDL cholesterol (overall cholesterol 259, LDL 149) with no avail (without meds). I eat whole foods, no ultra processed, I exercise 1.5 -2 hours a day, I am thin. My HDL is 88. I went vegan just to see if it was the saturated fats. Nope. Everyone kept saying it must be genetic. Then I found Dr. Hyman’s podcast where he mentioned Function Health and taking control of your health. I began listening to him and all of his guest about heart health. Within 6 months all my mid year cholesterol levels normal. I spent 30 years with high cholesterol. —Function Health tests give you a better understanding of your where to focus and access to tests that doctors refuse to order /understand. Knowledge is key and Function Health is a fabulous tool to begin that journey.

The initial blood test is very thorough and a great value for the money. The testing covers every organ in your body, therefore the results are very insightful and helpful. The results are detailed, yet easy to read and understand. The suggested supplement regime is very detailed, informative and guidance driven as well. I am very pleased with the service and highly recommend it to everyone as the tests provide more details and are more in-depth vs your typical blood tests performed with your GP.

The company is selling tests that are not customized or personalized in the name of "personalized medicine" and indirectly patients are misled to think they may not need a personal physician who can help them, review their unique history from birth to present, then order the appropriate tests and review those tests creating a personalized plan. Unfortunately they are undermining what functional medicine was supposed to be for profit and turned it into a business factory, that is not precise, not personal, and not in connection with an expert functional medicine physician who knows the patient, orders what they need and works with them to optimize their health, prevent and reverse disease. Patients are confused and misled thinking by getting this cookie cutter set of labs and paying $500 they are going to get answers about their health, and often are lost, most doctors do not accept this businesses labs. Physicians want to see their patients, know them, order what is needed and work with them to optimize their health. Not this cookie cutter business that is not personalized and taking advantage of patients and physicians in a misleading way. Further there are functional medicine physicians who have their patients get these tests and more based on symptoms and need through their insurance. Lastly many tests are missing the ones that are little more costly they just choose to skip those as part of their "panel".

The set up and blood draw was fine. I got my results in a timely manner. The issue was the feedback I got from the chat after all my results and clinical notes came in. One recommended chat prompt was "what supplement should I take". When asked it told me to take a probiotic which is the only thing I have been taking and was the one thing I put into the system I was taking. I asked it if I needed an omega supplement and it said no. Which was surprising to me so I told it what my test result was from my lab on omega and then it told me I should be taking one. The recommendations that I was getting from the app were incorrect. Also I thought I would get feedback on how to be healthier and that wasn't the case. I was just given my results and that was about it.
