I purchased a pre-owned Rolex Datejust…
I purchased a pre-owned Rolex Datejust 16233 from Frost NYC as an insurance replacement, with a total value of approximately $10,600. My experience has caused me serious concerns about the watch’s condition, the quality of the aftermarket diamond bezel, and Frost NYC’s warranty service. The watch was represented as inspected and serviced, but it developed significant mechanical problems. It previously had to be returned to Frost NYC for an overhaul, during which I was told that the mainspring and balance were replaced. After receiving it back, the watch eventually stopped running completely—even after winding it 30–40 times. The luminous hands and hour markers have also never illuminated properly. I am also concerned about the aftermarket diamonds. Their appearance and quality do not look comparable to the diamonds on my previous Rolex watch. I am not claiming they are fake without professional testing, but I want the bezel and stones independently examined and verified by a qualified gemologist or reputable Rolex specialist. Frost NYC received the watch again by FedEx on August 19, 2026, for warranty repair. As of September 4, I have sent multiple written follow-ups but still have not received a repair case number, diagnostic findings, confirmation of the work required, a list of parts to be repaired or replaced, or an estimated completion and return date. This is a high-value watch that has already required repeated service. A customer should not have to keep pursuing a company for basic information after the company has possession of the watch. At this point, I believe the appropriate resolution is either: A full refund; or Written authorization for the watch, movement, dial, bezel, and diamonds to be inspected by a legitimate Rolex-authorized dealer or qualified independent Rolex specialist, with Frost NYC covering the inspection and necessary repair costs. I need a permanent resolution—not another temporary repair. I will update this review if Frost NYC provides complete written findings and resolves the matter properly.
