Hey Joe, I am sorry you ran into issues with your tax payment. I have sent you a request for information if you would like me to look into what happened. Please include the email on your account in your reply. This is very unusual since we cannot change dates for payment in your account. If you entered a date, it sounds like you selected electronic withdrawal as your payment method. Electronic withdrawal payments are handled directly by the IRS or state-we do not touch any payment funds. The date you give is the earliest they are allowed to pull money from your account. Typically, they will not process your payment until they are done processing your tax return. If you are now getting late fees and penalties for late payment, you can reach out to the IRS and state and prove that you did give authorization for on time payment and should not be penalized due to their delay. Hello, Milissa, We're sorry to hear you're having issues with receiving your refund. Once your return has been accepted, the processing and timing of your refund is in the hands of the IRS. For security reasons, they will not discuss the processing of your refund with anyone not listed as a taxpayer or spouse on the return, including the tax preparation service you used to file. We guarantee the accuracy of our calculations based on the information entered. If the IRS made an adjustment, they will mail a letter that explains the adjustment. Hello Mike, A tax underpayment penalty is a fee that may be charged by the IRS or state tax agencies if you don’t pay enough tax throughout the year, either through withholding or estimated payments. It’s meant to encourage taxpayers to pay taxes as they earn income, rather than waiting until the tax deadline. This fee typically does not refer to any error on your return and is most often calculated/accessed after your return has been filed.
