Hi Tim! We are happy to hear you had an easy time filing the federal return. The option to have your fees withheld from your refund is optional and not required. The extra fee is not from us, but rather from the third-party banking partner we use to make that happen. Use it if you wish, but fees can always just be paid without the additional steps and cost.

Hello David, I am very sorry you had a rough experience entering your W-2 information! Our support team is always more than happy to help you get things entered correctly and as a deluxe customer you can get priority support quickly with email or live chat so you don't need to spend so much time fighting a return. Deluxe can also get you resources and other tax information to help you make the best decision for your return-but they cannot give tax advice as we are a self-preparation software. We do have a Pro Support option if that is what you are looking for!

Hey Colton, I apologize for any difficulty you had with e-filing your tax return. Since you don't directly send your W-2 form when e-filing, the IRS does require that the EIN be included with your filing. I apologize this was not made clear earlier in the process. If you don't have your original W-2 form in future years, a local tax professional is able to request an un-masked transcript for you to get your EIN for e-filing purposes if needed. Hi Mark! We are sorry to hear of the frustrations you are experiencing. We encourage you to reach out to our Support team through your account so they can assist you with your situation specifically. Based on what you have stated it sounds like you have already filed a return and are now working on an amendment. Once an original return is filed it is generally not possible or needed to file an extension. Please note, per the IRS an e-filed extension must be filed by April 15th. Therefore it is not possible to now file an extension in our software. Please reach out to our Support team and we will be happy to assist you.
