I was told the same as others, a truck in the area, didn't want to leave it empty. The movers were from Safeway Moving out of Denver Colorado....I gave an accurate inventory, then when movers were at the house. There were items I didn't have movers load because they wanted to charge $600 for a portable fireplace I had on my list, also wanted to charge $170 for pictures I had bubbled wrapped and didn't load my bookshelf because was told it was going to cost $ 300 for that. All items I listed and measured with my personal represenative on phone. I taped all my boxes and the movers tried charging me for 36 rolls of tape, but only 9 was in trash. I was in a binding not to exceed contract and after taking items off they say I was over 100cu ft from estimate so charging me more than $1000 over estimate. The movers also helped themselves to my food. Which is stealing. I have been calling for over 2 weeks and leaving messages and nobody will return my call. I do not recommend anyone to use this company.

THEY ARE A BROKER!!!
BROKER...Freedom Movers was not who showed up on Move day, company X w/ a long list of negative reviews showed up in an unmarked truck and 2 hours (truck half loaded) in I receive a quote from company X, for extra cubic foot. Talked to T**** & P****, and basically was told you signed a contract and we don't have to help you. Oh and in no point in that conversation or any conversation verbal or email, up to this point did they identify that they had brokered out the contract (per the driver he was a 3rd party delivering to a warehouse in San Fernando for Freedom Moving to deliver to ultimate destination, no where on my estimate was company X. 7 PM I get a a call from a Manager at company X wanting to get a direct payment from me. I have no documentation from Freedom Moving stating company X was involved, and not even a courtesy explanation. I never would have selected company X on my own based on multiple negative reviews. At this point I am still expecting to pay Freedom Moving the company that I signed a contract with, but they went home for the day and won't answer any of the provided numbers. Long story short with a truck loaded in the front yard, I am now in business with company X, who I never would have selected on my own, and still have not had a single returned call or email from Freedom Moving since P**** promised to call me back and went home, with no explanation of why Company X is asking me for more money.
I want to be clear I think we had more cubic feet than was quoted, I believe both A**** and T**** who adjusted the quotes significantly undersold the size of the move, I think they did this out of a belief that I would use a different company if they came in higher. I also believe that A**** specifically withheld the information that they would Broker out my job, because she realized I wouldn't use them if I knew that.
My chief complaint is not that they inherently breached contract they have a lengthy Estimate agreement that removes most of a customers avenue to prosecute them if unhappy with the service.
No, my chief complaint is that they verbally and purposefully convinced me that my concerns were addressed, requoting by weight vs Cu ft, A**** moved the weight out of the parenthesis and cu ft into the parenthesis on the estimate, (this shows weight is binding cu ft is not) ( Spoiler it doesn't show that per T***, P***, and Company X)but she sure told me it did. and once I paid the deposit, they literally did not do any of the things neccesary or promised (No follow up walkthroughs, no calls explaining process, didn't even answer my calls to confirm move until day before.) They did nothing to ensure that the move would go smooth. They definitely didn't inform us that a random different company would show up on move day, or give us an accurate estimate on size of load, or even explain who I would be sending $2900 to on the move day.
I think they purposely utilized the full scope of their legal liability protection to make me believe I would be taken care of, and ultimately I don't know what I actually paid them to do. They screwed up the estimate, misquoted the size of the shipment, did not help resolve any issues with company x, charged me for packing they didn't do, and won't return any of my calls or emails. I thought I was paying for Freedom Moving to Pack, Load, Safeguard, and ultimately deliver my stuff. Thats what I paid for thats why I committed. Now I realize they took my $1900 deposit and called the cheapest moving company with terrible reviews to come hit me up for extra money on move day. And didn't even have the courtesy to tell me they were doing it.
Just Don't use Freedom Moving they provide no value and are incompetent at best and downright Scammers at worst.

I was lied to by the salesman
I was lied to by the salesman, he contacted me saying they had one of THEIR trucks in the area during our move time frame and that they would cut me a good deal because they did not want the truck to return empty to Florida. I thought this was great because we needed our stuff stored in FL where we moved and they said it will be stored in Florida. Job was contracted out unbeknownst to me and this truck thing was an utter lie. Come to find out movers were from Maryland and our stuff would be stored there in a giant warehouse. Do not let the photos on the website fool you into thinking your stuff would be in a storage facility as shown. I was also told a price for storage which apparently was not communicated to the contracted out company, nor was I told storage was based on cubic ft. Spoke to customer service in December and was told they would listen to the recordings and get back to me, and they have not. I have called and left several messages and have not received a call back.

I can’t say enough good things! Btw - yes, ONE thing broke. But who moves with zero broken items ever?

Same as everyone else...DO NOT USE, THEY LIE TO GET A DEPOSIT AND DONT FOLLOW THROUGH.
Same as everyone else. Got a used car salesman pitch about how they were sending their own truck our way, and since we are moving back to their location, if we could help them fill the truck they would charge us a flat rate and give a great price. Paid the deposit based on this, then another $350 a few days before, just to find out they dont have a truck or location and they brokered someone else who showed up and said it would be an additional $5,000. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!!! They lie to get your deposit and probably just try to keep as many of those as they can.

Good afternoon Paul - We hope this finds you well. In regards to your complaint, we do apologize for the experience you are going through. At your pickup, you had more items and cubic feet, as well as more packing than your original estimate, increasing the price for your move. You accepted a binding estimate which established the cost of a move for the inventory you provided. The estimate identified the services ordered and explained the optional services available.
On the date of service, you presented additional inventory. You were provided a revised estimate, which described the new services ordered including the additional cubic feet/space you will need on the truck. You spoke with our Dispatch manager on the day of pickup and told her you did not do a complete inventory with the sales rep. You gave the rep a "rough estimate". You had 600 additional cubic feet that needed to be loaded on the truck by not completing an accurate inventory. You signed the Bill of Lading on 1/18/23 which clearly stated B****** Moving Inc. was handling your move. That form also listed their information as well as the DOT #, and you signed it in three different places. Please see attached estimate and Bill of Lading.

Bait and Switch - Moving Company doing Business like a Broker
When I first spoke to the people at freedom express I was rather impressed with the level of care the sales rep showed. I looked at reviews, and went through the inventory list for my move and got my quote. Brian worked with me to discount my move from the first number he threw at me but not by too much. He was very pleasant and easy to work with. Richard in QA called the day before to run through the revised list and he was pleasant as well. But this is where the experience with Freedom express turned awful. The day before the discussed pick up, I called again to confirm the time window, and found out we had to push things to my back up date. I was expecting next day delivery as my move was just over 300 miles, a 4.5 hour drive. So ok, we have to push to the back up date, not the end of the world but annoying. We get to 1/14 my back up date, and the movers show up for pick up, and it’s a contracted company out of Atlanta. The handle pick up, they did a decent job, the wrapped most things in moving blankets, disassembled my bed frame with reasonable care etc. we had a second stop pick up at my storage unit. We get there, and the guy tells me I’ll be over my estimate by a little bit. Ok nbd, I’m assuming they have an official process to measure the cubic feet before adjusting the estimate. The dude quotes me the new price before anything is on the truck. I ask him if that’s that final estimate given it’s clear the actual space wasn’t measured and he assures me he’s got it all measured out in his head. At this point, it’s 6 o'clock. (They arrived at 1:30) and everything else is on the truck. My options are reject the move, or eat the extra $430 I was apparently over so fine I pay it. They tell me deliver should happen Sunday 1/15. Tell me someone should call from dispatch that evening to let me know. Tell me that a rep from freedom express would be on the delivery side of things. Saturday evening no one reached out. I texted the crew lead directly on Sunday and he gave me dispatch’s number. I left a message, got a call back Sunday evening from the driver. He says “I’ll be there Monday between 3-5pm”. I’m thinking that’s better than nothing. I call freedom express Monday morning to confirm (mind you I’ve taken pto to accommodate this move so I am needing my things delivered so that I can get my home office up and running to get back to work) and freedom express tells me that Monday is a holiday, no one is there from dispatch, I’m getting a 1-5 business day delivery service and the earliest my things would arrive is Wednesday. I’m pissed but what can I do right? Monday night at 5:20pm I get a call from the same guy I talked to Sunday evening from the contracted moving company, and he tells me he’s gonna be late, his tire blew but was hoping to still be able to make it that Monday evening and offered the option to do the evening delivery or deliver first thing in the morning. I was exhausted and opted for first thing in the morning Tuesday. He was there at 7:30 am and delivered my things. He and his crew ignored my request to avoid using power tools when reassembling my furniture and I am reasonably. Confident that they over tightened screws for a set of $2600 chairs that are less than 2 years old, and my $1k standing desk that isn’t even a year old yet. I am sure that if I have to disassemble either of those items again in the future, they will like be ruined. Additionally, a bag of accent pillows that accompany my sofa and said chairs is missing.
The company contracted to complete my move by freedom express has a 1.6 star rating on google. Freedom express boasts their 5 star service and then contracts out to seeming unvetted companies like a moving broker would do yet they advertise their white glove service as a moving company which is different. I am beyond pissed with the service I received from freedom express. It was a complete bait and switch. AVOID THESE GUYS AT ALL COSTS

Hello Nick,
You were delivered in 2 days. There was a small increase in the size of your load which was only 110 cubic feet that increased the cost of your total move by approximately $378 plus $50 in fuel. I know that these movers always do a fantastic job and the delivery time was faster than most of our customers going the same distance this time of the year. We will have them check the warehouse for your chair and will also be giving you a call to follow-up. Thank you!

My move was a disaster
My move was a disaster. Two days before scheduled move date, get a phone call from the agent informing me that they needed another $400.00 before they could come. My deposit had been paid for weeks. At that time I gave my agent count off everything that was going on the truck. "NO PROBLEM, THE VAN IS PLENTY BIG ENOUGH FOR YOUR LOAD. Haha. Thankfully something in my gut said get a u haul something just didn't feel right. Less than half of my belongings were loaded on the truck when I was told that if I needed anymore than the 10 feet of floor space it was an additional $2,000.00, plus. Which now brings my moving expense to over $7,000.00. The guys that loaded the van were fanatic. But as a veteran owned company they sure stuck it to this vet. I would not recommend nor would I ever use this company in the future.

I have called and left numerous message…
I have called and left numerous message and they never call me back. They over charged me after giving me a set price and told it would not change. Sad this site won’t let you use any names…ridiculous … and others will never call you back and should change their voicemail message to reflect this, I would not recommend using these people.
