Florida Power & Light Company (FPL)Reviews of fpl.com

I am disgusted with FPL our bill in the winter time is normally on the low side about 180 which is still high if you ask me however our last bill was 425 I'm very upset it FPL they are thieves and a ripoff! Our bill in the summertime ranges from $500 to almost 600 no excuse FPL

FPL came and shut off our power for testing, the technician did not speak English. I tried to explain to him that people need to be informed before they do this. This was at our house only. There was no warning that they would shut off our power and do testing and that is EXTREMELY inconsiderate and worrying. Many people have medical devices at home that require power, and to shut off power to do a test without informing those who live there first is absolutely negligent. You can cause serious harm to someone who is reliant on a life-saving medical device. Because our power was suddenly turned off, I lost about a hour of work on a project I was working on on my computer. Thankfully, the test was over in just a few minutes, but I am not happy. Additionally, we have power surges all of the time. Multiple times a week, our digital clocks get reset, or lights flicker, etc. This is 100% FPL’s fault. Good luck trying to get a representative on the phone. I have been on hold for 2 hours now trying to speak with someone. It’s like this nearly every time I call in, at least an hour wait.

I wish I could give fpl a negative 5 star. I bought a brand new home and had power turned on a specific day and almost 3 months later I still have not gotten a bill and they cannot give me any answer as to why not. They keep saying they’re checking into it. They also say that when I get the bill I can make payments which doesn’t help me one bit. The incompetence of this company is disgusting. You can get nowhere with calling their customer service and when you do speak to someone, they are so stupid they can’t give you any information.

I was supposed to move from one apartment to another so I had my services transferred well I had a payment extension up until February 19th I believe well they use my deposit to pay the past new amount which was fine however the move didn't take place I had to revert my power back to my original apartment well they're giving me till January 28th on an extension and I just got a final notice in my email this morning they're going to cut my power off on the 28th I called Friday to find out what I could do to get some help here and I was told these organizations and they wouldn't be open till Monday how are you going to cut my power off after one day notice when I had an extension when they reverted everything back why didn't they give me the same original extension you people just you are heartless cold hearted bloody people we just had a snowstorm here nothing has been open this week you could do something to fix that policy to fix my extension to give me till the 1st but no you can't do that I'm a disabled individual I'm on disability limited income you want me to sit Monday and try to make phone calls to these organizations that will not answer their phones Florida power and light are a horrible company and I wish you'd never came in I wish Gulf power was back at least they would have a little bit of a heart to help you out Florida power and light you all you want is money money money you don't care who you fixing to leave in the cold disabled or not shame on you

This company is price gauging me during a state of emergency $569 and taking advantage of crisis i have a disabled veteran father and I am autistic this is not acceptable from a scam company i have a little mobile home less than 1000 square feet and they are doing this

FPL mixed up my next door neighbors address with mine because my number is the same but has A behind the number. My account was then closed and may take months to correct.Ive never seen such incompetence with a company and how is this allowed Never mind you can't reach a representative unless you call several times and they give you the same bullshit answers

my poor review is with your on line service and then trying to actually get to a human being at customer service number. I was unable to add a new service on a duplex and a 2nd apartment that we own. It took me three days of trying and finally got to Kim who was helpful. I was NOT able to explain to her I had multiple units I was calling about as I was told to only answer the questions she was asking. She was able to help but it took a lot of FRUSTRATION just to get to a human on the phone. By the time I got to her I was literally in tears! The Online service, never resolved the issues. FPL was not recognizing one of the properties was a DUPLEX! As for the second unit we own, it never appeared on my On Line account even though I tried since the 30th of December to add it. Nor did we had service for the 3 days it was empty.

FPL - worst company ever. They have a monopoly in our area so they could care less about the crappy service they provide. We have constant power outages and their policy (per Felicia and Jessica in customer "service" ("disservice "), is to not provide refunds for these ongoing problems! Horrible customer service and horrible company.
