This is a DANGEROUS company. I was looking around for moving quotes for my upcoming move from Baltimore to Philly... This man "Doug" called me back about my quote and was intense and verbally aggressive, to the point I was apologizing for idk what because he was shouting and berating me for saying I was still asking around for quotes. He belittled me for even comparing quotes and asked for the names of the companies. He then went on a rant about these other movers "he knew" and told me they would drive off with/steal my things. This man carried on about being ex-military and how the government backs his services... I hope not. He continued to lecture me on moving brokers and laughed when I was confused; all I wanted was a basic quote. It was weird and felt very unsafe given he knows my current and future address mixed with his threatening persistence. I declined his services and he emailed me, called me, and texted me about how I made a "big mistake" and he knows my routes. I'm terrified.

Thank you for sharing your feedback about your recent experience with our company. We take your concerns seriously and appreciate the opportunity to address them.
Our representatives are trained to provide helpful guidance during the quoting process and to educate customers about potential risks when selecting a moving provider, such as companies operating without proper licensing or using deceptive practices. Doug's passion for providing accurate information about the moving industry is rooted in his commitment to ensuring customers make safe and informed decisions. We regret if this information was conveyed in a way that made you feel uncomfortable or pressured, as this was certainly not the intention.
As for the follow-up communications, it is part of our standard process to ensure customers have the information they need. If the frequency of contact felt excessive, we sincerely apologize and will review our practices to ensure a better balance moving forward.

This is the most dishonest company on…
This is the most dishonest company on the planet. This company doubled the price quote. Only delivered half of my belongings. And most of the delivered items were either broken or damaged beyond repair. They broke, (shattered to be exact) the chair arm on my dining room set and tried to "glue the pieces back together and then glue the arm in place. I did not receive ANY of my clothing, my jewelery box, none of my wall art, coin collection, antiques, or electronics. They literally opened my boxes and chose what they wanted. The boxes containing my china and everyday dishware arrived in pieces. My hats that did arrive, had bleach dripped all over them and were discolored and smelled like the chemicals that dripped/drain on them. There was so much of my belongings missing, that it is shameful. And to think I paid them almost $20K to move my things because I wanted them safe. The joke's on me for trusting them. Please don't use this company. Trust that you will regret it!
p.s. I only gave them a 1-Star rating because there was no ZERO!!!

We take customer feedback very seriously, and we are committed to ensuring that every client receives quality service. However, we believe it is important to clarify some inaccuracies in your review.
Storage Status: At the time of writing this review, your belongings were still in storage and had not yet been delivered. Therefore, the claim that only half of your belongings arrived is incorrect.
Cost of Services: The total cost of your move was half of the amount you have stated and the price increased because you had 700 additional cubic feet that were not disclosed on the inventory you provided prior to pickup. We believe there may be a misunderstanding, and are happy to review your invoice with you to clarify any concerns.
Damage Claims: While you have stated that there is extensive damage to your items, we have yet to receive any formal compensation claim or supporting documentation. Filing a claim is a necessary step for us to investigate and address these concerns appropriately.
Accusations of Theft: We take accusations of theft very seriously. Our team adheres to strict protocols to ensure the security and integrity of our clients' belongings. If you believe items are missing, we encourage you to contact us directly so we can investigate thoroughly.
We understand that moving can be a stressful experience, and we want to work with you to resolve any legitimate issues. Please contact our customer care team at [email protected] to discuss your concerns further.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
I had an absolutely terrible experience with this moving company. First of all, Doug, who claims to run the business, acts like he has a large team, but in reality, the movers are subcontracted and work for him and another company. Doug’s communication is unprofessional at best—he goes on long rants that make it sound like he’s on some sort of upper.
Here’s my experience: I called to confirm my delivery date after the 25th, as the movers told me to do if the date changed. Doug assured me that the delivery would be on the 3rd or 4th, but it might be as late as the 6th. Then he went on a bizarre, irrelevant story about people trafficking meth. I spoke with the Ukrainian moving company, and they told me that Doug confirmed the 1st and never mentioned the 3rd at all.
When I called Doug back, upset that the date I confirmed was now incorrect, he flat-out told me, "Yeah, well, I am about to screw you over." To threaten a customer like that over a two-day discrepancy in the requested delivery date is completely unacceptable.
Save yourself the headache and avoid this company. Doug is dishonest, unprofessional, and clearly doesn’t care about his customers. Do NOT use this company.
I'm updating after their response. The delivery was completed the 1st because Doug threatened me and i wanted this done before he had an excuse to try to charge me more money. As I've said before this is the last person you want involved in your move.

Your delivery was planned based on your first available day, which was updated to 12/1 after your conversation with Doug on 11/25. We sent you two emails at that time- the first was to confirm that your availability was updated to 12/1 and the second was important information about your delivery including that your availabiltiy would begin on 12/1. The first available day is confirmed in writing multiple times to ensure that we have the correct information and there are no verbal misunderstandings. On 11/29, we called and left a voicemail, texted, and sent another email confirming that your delivery was on the way as we planned to deliver on your first available day.
Had you responded or indicated in any way that this was not the correct date, we would not have scheduled it as deliveries are planned based on your availability to avoid exactly this situation. Unfortunately, we didn't hear from you until the driver reached out to confirm the ETA 24 hours prior to arrival.
We recommended getting a storage unit to avoid redelivery fees if you couldn't be available on 12/1 but you already had a unit and made arrangements for someone to be there on your behalf. The delivery was ultimately completed on 12/1 without incident.
Additionally, we want to be clear that our crews are not subcontracted. We are not brokers. The movers, customer service, and reservatios staff all work for First Class Movers and the fact that some of our crew are Ukrainian has nothing to do with anything.

Worst moving company ever
Worst moving company ever. They don’t even deserve one star but that isn’t an option. MISLEADING IN EVERYWAY!!! New name for company: Worst Class Extortion Moving Company.
Verbally told a moving date could be executed, quoted a price for the move —which more than doubled when they arrived at pick up. Then it took 3 weeks AFTER the date they said they could execute. AWFUL experience - called a number on website site for help, as I was not hearing anything from them and was accosted by a male employee out of Seattle office who made sure to inform me he was bonafide agent and I was basically an idiot. He informed me immediately that he was going to sue me and hold my items in a warehouse and I’d need to seek legal council to get them (all for calling to see where my shipment was.) ABRASIVE, RUDE, inappropriate. (Sending text messages and leaving voicemails after I ended the call for being treated that way). The first employee who sold me the initial song and dance was kind/responsive on the surface. (Hooking the customer in) - but unreachable afterwards, telling me to call “dispatch” for any information. Never once apologizing, helping to advocate for the customer. No where to be found. Unresponsive.
Items finally arrived, only to be extorted again for more money for “long haul”. Would not unload truck without additional payment. This was a first floor, road access apartment delivery location. 50 feet at best, no steps.
HORRIBLE. Traumatic. SCAM. Worst experience EVER. They are rated with BBB - not sure how. Will be filing with BBB and a claim with company. Avoid at all cost.
There are many many other victims - please read and search internet - I wish I did. I believed in honesty and just simple services. If you believe in this too - find another company.

We regret any challenges you faced during your move and wish to address your concerns. Regarding the delivery timeframe, it is important to clarify that our service agreement, in compliance with the FMCSA's standard for reasonable dispatch, outlines a delivery timeframe of up to 21 business days for coast-to-coast moves under standard service. This information is explicitly stated in our contract and was communicated to you before and after the pickup. Your items were delivered well within this timeframe.
Regarding pricing and payment, the contract signed on October 9, 2024, clearly indicates that the initial estimate was based on the inventory list you provided at the time of booking. Any additions or discrepancies in volume at pickup may result in adjusted pricing, as detailed under the agreed terms. Your signature on the revised estimate and Bill of Lading acknowledges understanding and acceptance of these terms including any cost adjustments for added items or services.
Regarding any lapses in communication with your reservations specialist, it should be noted that, as outlined in the contract, once booking is complete, our customer service team becomes the client's primary point of contact as this process helps streamline communication. We recognize that prompt and empathetic responses are critical, and we apologize if this expectation was not met.
We also want to be abundantly clear that we do NOT hold shipments hostage arbitrarily. If there is a confrontation or the client refuses to pay their balance in accordance with the contract, it will not be scheduled until the issue is resolved. This policy ensures the safety of our drivers and the integrity of our operations. In rare cases where disputes cannot be resolved amicably, Article 12 of the agreement stipulates that such matters must be addressed through the courts in King County, Washington. This is not a threat, it is an escalation process that we always strive to avoid through clear communication and cooperative resolution.
If you have unresolved issues, we encourage you to use the claims process outlined in the contract. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.

"First Class Movers completely failed…
"First Class Movers completely failed to live up to their name, delivering a chaotic and unprofessional moving experience. Their crew arrived late, seemed unprepared, and handled my belongings with careless disregard, resulting in significant damage to several items. Communication was poor throughout the process, and despite repeated attempts to reach management regarding the issues, I received no satisfactory response. Avoid this company at all costs if you value your possessions and want a smooth move
Response from First class moversNov 18, 2024
Thank you for reaching out to share your experience with us. We apologize for any frustration you felt during the move and appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns.
At First Class Movers, we aim to adhere to scheduled pickup times and provide prompt service. However, due to the nature of our industry and the many unpredictable variables that arise during moves, we cannot always guarantee precise arrival times. We do our best to keep clients updated and appreciate your understanding in these circumstances.
Regarding the handling of your items, we acknowledge that two of your items were left behind initially, but quickly located and have since been successfully delivered. We have a process in place for handling damages or missing items, and per our agreement, clients are welcome to file a compensation claim if necessary. As of today, we have not been informed of any damages or received a request for a claim form related to any specific damaged items; however, we proactively sent a claim form to you so that you may file a claim at your convenience. We encourage you to complete this form if you wish to address any concerns about your belongings in greater detail. It’s important to note that in most cases, damages typically stem from improper packing techniques. In this case, as you packed your own belongings, this may have contributed to some of the issues.
Additionally, we’d like to clarify the timeline of the moving process for accuracy: pickup occurred on 10/16, and we sent a delivery confirmation on 10/21. Your first available delivery day was scheduled for 10/23, allowing us to complete the process quickly and well within standard timeframes. Our team communicated with you throughout this period to keep you informed.
Thank you again for your feedback. We’re here to ensure a positive resolution and are happy to assist you with any additional steps in the claims process if needed.

Tried to give them a chance, was burned in the end
I was going to give this company the benefit of the doubt. I am planning a move from the east coast to the Midwest and this was the cheapest company I could find for the move. The guy on the other end of the line gave me pretty strange vibes as he was strong arming me from the very first call. He said his name was Greg but later I talked to the same guy and he said his name was Chris which should've been my first red flag. I understand it's a competitive business so I excused it and got all the way to a month before my move. Unfortunately, with my inventory list, they said I had way more cubic feet than what was quoted to me by an agent who actually came to my house from another more reputable moving company. I was trying to tell him that the cubic feet was checked by another company and he immediately got super combative, telling me I am being disrespectful and threatening me with court time and a lien against my property (which?? I am leaving? it's a rental? what??) so I did not like that at all. No matter who was mistaken and whose misunderstanding it was, that is no way to react to someone who is trying to explain something especially your customer. I cancelled my move with them immediately after he tried to gaslight me into saying I was disrespectful to him when all I said was "listen" and he took it very badly. He was a really weird guy and he always talked about the other employees at his company but I never talked to any of them over the phone, only through email/text which I thought was very suspicious. They might be a legit company but for me, I think the customer service was way too deplorable for me to continue with them even for the cheap price. I will most likely have to dispute the deposit I put in for the move (which is also another red flag), and expect more trouble than it's worth. I will say, I really tried to give them a chance but ultimately, I was burned. Take my story as your own warning.
Response from First class moversNov 7, 2024
While we appreciate your feedback, we'd to clarify a few points regarding our process and communication.
First, we would like to address the names confusion. We do not have a team member named “Chris,” so we believe this may have been a misunderstanding during your conversation with our booking representative. Also, it’s not unusual for clients to interact with different team members via phone and email. In your case, the booking representative handled phone communications, while our support staff responded via email.
When you provided us with an inventory list, we estimated the total volume at 822 cubic feet for the listed items, excluding any packing boxes. You mentioned having a quote from another company for 300 cubic feet based on the same inventory, which seemed significantly low given industry standards. To ensure accuracy, we requested a copy of that estimate multiple times, as we were willing to match the rate if verified. Unfortunately, you declined to provide it, which led us to feel that you might not have been forthcoming with this information.
As a result, and due to the challenging nature of the communications, we agreed it would be best to cancel the move and promptly processed your refund. We prioritize transparency, professionalism, and fair pricing, and as such, have included a copy of the inventory list in question below. We wish you the best in your upcoming move and hope this provides clarity on our interactions. Thank you.

A Man who told me He WAS the Owner of the Company-Verbally Abusive on Phone. Also-Items Missing/Stolen by ?
I moved from California to Michigan. The Movers picked up my items on July 28, 2024 and I received them on August 27, 2024. It is true that I was told certain methods of payment would be accepted at Arrival, but then the methods of payments were changed. I made sure I paid the rest of my bill of $875.00 in cash. As I was alone, I had to unpack everything and it took me about 1.5 weeks before I noticed some of my items were missing, I thought some of my bins were missing, but then I noticed Certain Items that had been packed with other items were missing. Mainly a large Ninja Food Processor and a Smaller Food Chopper, garden items, a fan, etc. I had purchased over $4000.00 worth of BRAND NEW Bath and Body Works products and HALF of them were missing! NONE had been used! I had to fill out a Claims Form with CSI and they told me that they still needed the Interstate Bill of Lading. I panic because I didn't remember ever filling one out. I look and looked in my Documents Folder but could not find it. Vivian from CSI did call me and explained to me that she needed it. I finally found a copy on my Desktop but once I clicked it and scrolled down, it looked like I hadn't signed it. I panic again! So I called First Class Movers to speak to Alexa (spelling might be wrong,) who emailed me the Interstate Bill of Lading. A man answered the phone and I tried to tell him what I needed. As he spoke, I asked him if his name. I told him I recognized his voice since he was the person I had spoken with initially. Well, this Man who told me he Owned the Company starts to talk really fast and I asked him if he could slow down because I couldn't understand all what he was saying. The Conversation went Sideways from this point on! He began to accuse me of trying to say that I didn't get my items, that I signed, etc. I tried to tell him that I had found the Interstate Bill of Lading, but it wasn't signed. GOD is my Witness, this person went off on me! He didn't swear, but he tried to intimidate me by not allowing me to complete any sentences. Each and every time I tried to talk, he talked over me. I told him I was going to hang up (I didn't want to be rude and just hang up) and find someone else to speak to about this matter. He stated that he was the Owner! I just couldn't believe what was happening and I continued to say that I was hanging up now. He eventually hung up the phone. Basically, I am still in disbelief. This person, who told me he was the Owner of the Company, WOW! Never, ever, ever, ever again. I did not do my due diligence in investigating this company! To have items stolen, bins broken and then have this person who said he was the Owner scream, yell and attempt to intimidate me was just a bridge too far. The other reviews, I am happy for them, but those of us, like me, had an unprofessional and unbelievable experience. My advice is to steer away from the man that told me he was the Owner of the Company and whoever took my items from First Class Movers. Hillary and Dana treated me in a professional way. BTW, after speaking to Vivian again to tell her of my experience with the person who said he was the Owner of the Company and that I will NOT EVER talk to him again, I did find my Signed Interstate Bill of Lading. To the man who spoke to me on the phone, perhaps you are the Owner of First Class Movers and you will NEVER admit that you were abusive to me over the phone. But that's OK, because if only one person reading this review believes me, and they choose another company, then I did my due diligence in warning them. If you speak to the next client BETTER than you spoke to me, then I did my due diligence. I pray for the latter.
Response from First class moversNov 6, 2024
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are sorry to hear that the interaction described in your review did not meet your expectations, and we appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns.
Firstly, to clarify, the individual you spoke with was not the owner, as our owner does not handle incoming client calls. While we understand that communication issues arose during your call, our staff always strives to speak clearly, answer questions, and ensure our customers have all the necessary information. If the conversation felt confrontational, we regret that impression, as our goal is always to assist and provide solutions, not to create further frustration.
Regarding payment, we’d like to note that the accepted payment options were clearly listed in the pickup and delivery confirmations sent to you before and after your pickup date. We’re glad that, despite some confusion, this was resolved with your final payment.
Regarding your delivery, we understand the frustration of unpacking and noticing missing or damaged items. While missing items are rare, they can occasionally occur, often due to inventory discrepancies rather than any form of theft. We strongly disagree with the implication that items were intentionally taken. We encouraged you to work with CSI, our claims partner, to handle any items you felt were missing or damaged. It is standard for the claims process to require specific documentation like the Interstate Bill of Lading, which outlines the inventory and services provided. We’re glad you were able to locate this document, as it’s essential to moving forward with any claims.
Our team, including Hillary and Dana, worked with you professionally throughout the move, and we appreciate your acknowledgment of their support. We know moving can be overwhelming, and our staff is here to make the process as smooth as possible. We are sorry that a single interaction left you feeling dissatisfied, as it’s our goal to address issues quickly and with understanding.
We wish you the best in your new home and thank you again for your feedback.

Worst experience!!
We hired these jokers unfortunately for a long distance move. TERRIBLE!!! First, they show up reeking of cigarettes and sweat while they comfortably sat on my leather furniture while the main guy gave me an estimate which was $6000 more than I expected to pay. Then, they didn't deliver it for another 3 weeks after we moved. And lastly, half of our stuff either missing or broken. After I put in an extensive claim of everything, I am only receiving 100$. Seriously!! They deserve 0 Stars! I still stand by what I said. It's funny I received notice my furniture could take up to 21 business days after WE MOVED!!! And perhaps informing people through verbal communication could be a little more helpful. And the insurance was portrayed that this company is so stellar that it was not necessary. And the delivery date was mentioned over the phone to me that it may only be a few days, but they really try hard to get it the day that I requested. Garbage!! So I highly do not recommend First Class Movers!
Response from First class moversOct 24, 2024
We are sorry to hear that you were dissatisfied with your recent move, but we strongly disagree with several aspects of your review and would like to clarify the situation.
Insurance Coverage: We recommended Full Value Protection insurance, which would have covered the replacement cost of any damaged or missing items. However, you declined this option and chose Basic Valuation Coverage instead, which is why your claim resulted in a settlement of $100. This was fully explained to you before the move. The compensation reflects the level of coverage you selected and extent of the damage. We recognize that damage does happen on occasion but to say that half of your items were damaged is a gross exaggeration.
Price Adjustment: The price increase you mentioned was not arbitrary. It occurred because your inventory expanded significantly on moving day, with an additional 730 cubic feet of items added to the load. The original estimate was based on the inventory you provided, and as is standard practice, adjustments were made when the actual volume turned out to be far greater than anticipated. The revised cost reflected the extra space and resources needed to complete your move. Please keep in mind that you approved and signed off on the Bill of Lading including all charges prior to loading the truck.
Delivery Timeline: Contrary to your claim, your delivery was not late or delayed. It was completed within the agreed-upon timeframe that was provided to you both before and after pickup. We understand the stress of a long-distance move, but we fulfilled our obligations as scheduled.
Professionalism: We take feedback about our crew seriously and have passed your concerns to our operations team for further review. That said, we maintain high standards of professionalism, and any deviation from those standards will be addressed internally to prevent future issues.
To prevent these issues next time you move, we kindly recommend taking the time to read and understand your contract.
